The Truth of The Young

Life was simpler when we couldn't reach the mirror,

And we couldn't see the imperfections,

Upon our "perfect" faces.

That's why we look back at the good times when we were young,

Even though we were just to lazy to climb to the mirror.

We grew up and got taller,

Then the mirror became at eye level,

And it gave us quite a fright.

The gap under the bed no longer held the monsters,

Neither did the closest.

They came inside and invaded,

Our little scared minds.

We tried and reach the perfection we thought we had when we were younger,

But honestly they lied.

Which brought us far under,

We were given a fake image of something falsely claimed real.

To achieve we tried everything;

Some even taking pills,

But despite the whole made in our hearts,

We lived.
