Chapter 10 : On the Case

"Oh I forgot to tell you something Meliodas, Bell can you bring him up?" Hestia says

"Sure, Kami-sama" Bell says

Then the once crimson red eyes turned jade green once again, the way it transitions colors was captivating to Hestia, no matter how many times she's seen it, she can't express enough how beautiful it looks. 'Wow' Hestia thought in her mind.

"Yeah what do you want to tell me?" Meliodas says

"I forgot to tell you, that some time ago, a week ago to be exact, there was a huge burst of divinity that spread throughout the world and nearly all the deities that was on the mortal world felt it, I figured this has something to do with your transfer" Hestia says

"Hmm, a week ago? I arrived here just yesterday, does this burst of 'divinity' that you speak of happens often?" Meliodas says

"No, that energy was very powerful, for a split second there, we thought the end of the world was gonna happen, as a result, security all around has been ramped up and a more strict regulation of entering the city has been implemented" Hestia says

"Now that you mentioned it, the guards and the adventurers were more vigilant than ever comparing it to Bell's memories, when I took a good look around, I thought that was how things are around here" Meliodas says

"As a result, an emergency denatus was held discussing 'that' " Hestia says

"Denatus?" Meliodas asked

"Its like a meeting between gods to discuss affairs in Orario, it is also the meeting were we discuss titles for our adventurers" Hestia answered

"Oh, well thanks for the information, that could be a clue on getting back to my world" Meliodas says

"We got nothing out of that meeting though, we originally just thought that was some gods were going on a rampage or something, wasted my time" Hestia says, with a bit of an irritated tone at the last part. She got a bit peeved that she got dragged into the meeting, meaning she wasted time when she could've spent it with Bell.

"Well for now, we are gonna go ahead and train then go to the dungeon, let's not report Bell's level up just yet, you better go or you're gonna be late for work" Meliodas says

"mhm *nods see ya and good luck" Hestia says while leaving their home

(We could go outside Orario and train there but I think the guards are not gonna let us leave, security has been tight these days)

"Yeah, I never really thought of that, I was thinking of training outside the city, but looks like the plan has changed a bit" Meliodas says "Let's go explore the city, we can know the best shops and places while also finding the best place to train, killing two birds with one stone" Meliodas added.

And so Bell and Meliodas walked around the city, trying to getting familiar with it, they were mostly sightseeing, watching and observing all kinds of shops, roads and restaurants they could find. On the way they bought some low quality potion from Naaza's shop . They kept wondering around until they found a perfect place to train.

The same location where Ais and Bell trained in the original story, at the top of the city wall.

"This looks like a good place" Bell says

(Let's see what you got Bell boy) 

"Right!" Bell says

Bell was moving around, testing his agility, trying to get used to new his speed, in which for a moment, he felt like the world was slowing down, until he realized it was not the world that was slowing down it was him getting faster. Meliodas was observing Bell trying to see flaws in his movements.

For 3 hours, all Bell did was doing basic tests with his new stats, testing out his strength, speed and control, at first he keeps miscalculating his new power and that resulted in him not using it properly and kept slipping up, but after a while he was beginning to get used to it. Sometimes Meliodas taught him some few pointers or gave him some advice on not to make any wasted movements.

Now for the test he was waiting for and the one Bell was looking forward to the most, his new magic, Hell Blaze. Meliodas taught him how Hell Blaze works that it was a dark fire enchantment spell, it increases attack power and the flames themselves cannot be put out with normal means and only the user itself can control the fire to be extinguishable or not. 

Bell held his cheap dagger and chanted 'Hell Blaze' and as he did black fire surrounded the dagger, Bell looks ecstatic that he can finally use magic and it was a cool one at that. Meliodas seeing Bell acting like a kid, giggled a bit. 

Bell just did a few practice swings leaving a trail of dark fire from the slash, Bell wanted to test out on how effective this was against monsters. They brought two large stones that were considered hard to break. 

Bell slashed one with Hell Blaze and it sliced so smoothly it felt like it was butter and the other one without Hell Blaze and the dagger bounced off, the dagger didn't show any signs of damage because Bell only used half strength on the last one, but even so he could feel the difference of attack power through the impact alone.

Bell did some training to get used to his new status one last time and then went to dungeon. Bell as he slashed through a goblin on the first floor, realize how much easier it is to kill them now. 'Wow' Bell thought in his mind. 

Bell immediately rushed through the first four floors and went to the fifth one. With Bell's level  2 status, monsters on the fifth floor were no problem, when they encountered a large group of killer ants, Bell without hesitation used Hell Blaze to kill them one by one. Meliodas also recommended that Bell doesn't use his magic too often, as his stats alone can handle them.

Bell nods.

The sixth and seventh floor were a slaughter fest as well. Even when they encountered a new monster like the war shadow, it was no problem, though the monsters spawn faster, it was still nothing to a level 2 adventurer. 

The upper floors suddenly became too easy for Bell and went deeper and deeper into the dungeon, Meliodas told him not to get cocky and told him to be careful.

The eight and ninth floors just contains the same monsters but stronger variations. This was still not a big deal for Bell as he defeated them pretty easily. They were of course surprised by how different the dungeon looks the deeper the floor they go.

That is when they realized they were running out of storage for holding magic stones and they were starting to get lost, luckily Meliodas remembered the pathway and they started to head back to the surface and as they did, several roars from a group of minotaurs can be heard from a distance.
