The issue regarding the stalkers was finally resolved, Meliodas was relieved that he managed to solve this issue without having to do anything. The patrolmen were more capable than he initially thought and he expressed his thanks to them.
The stalkers were mostly level 1 and the guy who struggled a bit was close to being a level 2, they were no match for the patrolmen though because most of them were either level 2's and 3's. One of them was even a level 4, so it wasn't really much of a fight from what Meliodas expected.
"Next time don't go flaunting around your wealth kid, you look like a defenseless brat that would be easy prey for these people, no offense but be careful next time" Shakti says
"Got it" Meliodas says unabashedly as he reminded himself to make an effort to hide his spoils from the dungeon.
"Well I'm glad you reached out to me and managed to cooperate with us, your quite astute for someone who looks like a rookie" Shakti says, despite the fact that she knew Meliodas was somewhat capable, she just couldn't help but see him as this fragile looking boy, perhaps it was due to how he looked and the gear he wore.
"After we take of them, report back and investigate which familia they belong to." Shakti says, commanding the fellow patrolmen
"Yes Ma'am/Captain" says the guards as they escorted the wannabe thieves away.
"Stay safe kid" Shakti says as she walked away along with the patrolmen.
"My name is Bell, Bell Cranel by the way" Meliodas says, adopting the identity of Bell, he figured that acquainting himself with the authoritative figures in the city could benefit him in some way
Shakti paused for a second when the boy introduced himself, she didn't want to be rude and returned the gesture "You don't seem to know who I am but whatever, my name is Shakti, if you are ever in danger, don't hesitate to ask my people for help" Shakti says, as she walked away into the distance.
Meliodas decided to return to the abandoned church and started walking into its direction, when he was halfway into his destination, he heard an almost inaudible yawn that didn't seem to be coming from anywhere in his surroundings because he was still in the middle of a noisy street and realized that Bell had begun to woke up.
On his way home, Meliodas bought some takeaway food that he bought from a food stand on the side of street with the little money that they had, despite carrying magic stones that caught the eyes from sharp-eyed passersby despite his attempts to conceal it, but didn't make any attempts to stalk or steal like the last time because Meliodas emanated a vigilant and dangerous aura that completely erased the rookie and harmless disposition that he displayed earlier.
Despite looking like a rookie, the people that were eyeing the pouches felt danger signals that stopped them from taking any action or have any ideas from it.
When Bell finally woke up he asked what happened and how were they out of the dungeon already.
'You passed out Bell, I don't know why but I already have an idea' Meliodas says in his thoughts knowing that Bell can hear it
Bell was a bit embarrassed because he thought passing out was a display of weakness and he thought that Meliodas was disappointed in him, he shook those thoughts off his mind, knowing the type of person Meliodas was, as he knew that wouldn't be the case.
'Oh yeah I almost forgot, do you want to go the guild now or do you want to go home, though we are almost back to the church' Meliodas says in his thoughts
(I guess we can go to the guild tomorrow in the morning and exchange our magic stones there, while giving ourselves some time to think about how to handle the matters of reporting my level up plus for some reason I'm pretty tire- agh!!) Bell was interrupted and suffered a small phantom headache as some foreign memories began to flood into his mind
These were the memories from when he passed out, up to the point until now, memories when Meliodas engaged the minoataurs, his conversation with the high leveled adventurers in the dungeon and the thieves that were stalking Meliodas and the operation the guards took to capture them.
Though his face turned pale when the memory showed that Meliodas somehow got impaled on his shoulder by a minotaur.
Despite not actively probing into Meliodas' memories like before, these memories somehow actively showed itself like filling in the gaps when he passed out.
'Are you alright Bell? You have me worrying a bit' Meliodas says in his thoughts
(Don't worry, I'm fine its just that somehow the memories during the time I was passed out showed itself)
'Huh, this memory sharing thing, I don't quite get how it works but it's quite convenient so I don't have to explain things' Meliodas says in his thought
(Be careful with my body please, I was a bit shocked when you somehow got impaled even though you could've dodged easily)
Despite knowing what happened, Bell was only shown Meliodas' memories and not what he felt throughout the fight, like watching a show and you saw a character getting an injury, you can't experience what that character felt but you can only imagine, he was unaware of the 'passing out' feeling that Meliodas had to struggle through, that is why he was surprised when Meliodas got hit.
'You probably don't know but at some point in the fight, I couldn't use magic and then it followed with the feeling of losing consciousness, I had to pull out all the willpower I could muster to remain standing, that could probably be related on why you passed out' Meliodas says in his thoughts.
(Wait really?) Bell then recalled the time he kept using magic despite Meliodas' telling him not to. (I'm sorry, it's probably my fault) Bell says.
'No sweat, we're fine, plus that was a good experience, now we know what happens when we overuse magic but I'll have to ask someone to confirm it, I was about to ask Hestia but maybe Eina is probably more knowledgeable about these things' Meliodas says in his thoughts.
(Mn) Bell says in an agreement to his words
Meliodas returned the control of Bell's body back to Bell as he made his way through the entrance of the church
"Kami-sama is not home yet" Bell says, as he put down the takeaway food on the table, took off his clothes and showered, despite their home being a dump when you look at it from the outside, the bathroom was relatively clean and was suitable for use.
(We got a lot of work to do tomorrow Bell, so be prepared)
"Yes, I'll do my best" Bell says with an optimistic tone, trusting that things somehow will turn out okay with Meliodas' guidance.
