Chapter 34 : Monster Feria

In the evening at the Hostess of Fertility, Bell was having dinner along with Hestia and Welf, Lili refused to join even when Bell tried to invite her over.

Hestia examined Welf up and down and nodded in satisfaction, she heard from Bell about Welf for a quite a while and when she figured out that he was male and a member of  Hephaestus' familia, Hestia approved with a thumbs up.

She even heard Bell got a new party member, a supporter named Lili when Bell talked about it. She was not worried of having another rival because it seems they were not that close yet but of course, there is always an eventuality in everything.

Meliodas somehow knew what was on Hestia's mind and couldn't help but mutter.

(Overprotective much?)

This time it was an elf named Ryuu that was serving Bell's table and had some conversations with her when she heard that Bell wanted to go the middle floors, she gave some advice and tips with her previous experience as an adventurer about the dangers of the middle floors.

And in the middle of the conversation, Mord and his gang offered Bell and Welf to join his party only to be turned down when they heard the ridiculous loot split of 9 to 1 with the 9 belonging to Mord's group.

Outraged by the refusal, he was about to engage in violence when Ryuu taught him a lesson and scurried out of the establishment like street rat.

For some reason, Syr was somehow absent tonight which made Bell frown.

"Syr is currently busy with some important matters, she's fine, don't worry Mr. Cranel" Ryuu said.

Bell sighed and said "I was just curious." Everytime Bell visits the Hostess, it was always Syr who would take the initiative to welcome him like some sort of VIP.

At the side, Hestia listened and tsked.

"Oh yeah, the Monster Feria is finally coming up in several days, finally after being delayed, holidays are rare here in Orario" Welf said.

"Monster Feria?" Bell said.

Welf then proceeded to explain the Monster Feria to Bell whose eyes lit up in response after hearing about it.

After dinner, they then proceeded to go home, repeated their routines but somehow Bell couldn't find a level 2 to party up with, as most of them were already in a party.

Bell would woke at 6 in the morning where he would train for several hours, learning how to use his skills and magic, then fight monsters in the dungeon  and then train in late evening and then sleep.

This has been schedule for a while now and he made steady but  fast progress nonetheless and even exceeding Meliodas' expectations a bit.

He even got his trademark magic [Firebolt] from a grimoire that was abandoned in the Hostess and inadvertently learned said magic a couple of days before he partied up with Lily.

He panicked when the grimoire became blank and was frightened to the core that he had to pay an extraordinary amount of Valis that he would be unable to accumulate in a lifetime.

In a panic, he bolted all the way to the Hostess where he originally found the book but Mama Mia threw the book away in the trash, reassuring Bell and put the issue behind him.

Right now, practical combat training was put on hold and was focused on learning how to utilize Bell's current skills and magic but no matter how hard Bell tries, he still couldn't use [Demon Mark].

Right now, his status shows up like this.
