Of course, as all things did, the day came to a close. You found yourself home until the weekend was over.
School would only take place on Monday and Tuesday, giving the students the long deserved Winter break just before Nationals. In return, practice would be frequent until the very day you found yourself at center court.
Your school day was over quickly, and practice followed. After, you spent your time studying at home.
Then it was Tuesday, and you did it all again just like the day before. As you walked home with Akaashi, you could see something was on his mind.
"Hey, what's got you overthinking this time?" You asked with an optimistic tone.
The sky was orange as the day was ending again.
"I was just thinking... about Christmas and New Years. Do you know if you'll go back to see your family?"
"No, I'm staying here for the holidays." Your smile quickly went to a blank stare as you spoke.
Akaashi narrowed his eyes.
"Ah." He hummed in recognition.
Your expression dropped and brows furrowed as you looked to the ground.
The boy with gunmetal blue eyes of course noticed this, turning his head to you.
He walked a few more steps, but paused.
"Wanna go somewhere for a bit?"Your eyes looked up at him with a little wonder, but you gave out a laughing hum, "Hmh, yeah."
Akaashi walked you through the roads you had seen before, walking through the canopy of leafless trees. The wind blew the cold breeze against your face, giving you slight chills.
But soon, Akaashi led you to somewhere you hadn't seen, though it wasn't far from the apartments.
As you walked down the back roads, the river came into view.
Getting closer, you could see the hill that slid down til the grass and concrete walkway on the edge boarded the river.
"I didn't even know this road was here." You stated with parted lips looking at the bridge.Akaashi smiled, walking down the concrete steps and turning to you as he reached the bottom.
He faced the water as you made it to his side.
"It's always been pretty here at night. The sun will be down in only a few minutes." Akaashi stated as he took a seat on the stairs.
You followed, sitting next to him on the stair and looking at your feet as you wrapped your arms around your legs.
"It's starting to get even colder out." You muttered.Akaashi looked down at you before he looked back out over the water. "If you get cold, just let me know. You can have my jacket. We can't have you getting sick."
