At one point in the night, the sky broke with a change in temperature. A flutter of white flurries fell all at once, overwhelming the air. The world itself seemed to slow, and all sounds were gone. It was eerie, but somehow comforting as the muffled silence of snow fall fell upon the earth.
Akaashi looked up from the bench, you still in his arms as he watched the white fall farther until it met his nose. It was cold against his bare skin.
You rustled in his grasp, causing his cheeks to turn red as he held you. White and cold speckles landed on your jacket as he watched you. He'd come to the conclusion that something had happened in your years of living together with your mom. Something had snapped today, remembering the words 'it's happening again.', that came from your mouth. A panic attack? Your mom's reaction? What was happening again? He could only sit and think about it, think about how scared you really were. Akaashi had been a witness to parents who acted like that with their child, but he noticed one thing that was different. Your reaction, among them all, was far more controlled. It led him to believe that it had been happening for a while, incidents like this with your mom. He saw it, how strong you were trying to be until you broke in sight of the car. It puzzled him greatly, leaving him in deep question.
What had happened to you?It made him only more curious about you, maybe because he now knew the truth about something about you now. He now knew, you weren't perfect, and you had struggles as well as everyone else. It proved to him that even the strongest on the outside were fighting their own battle on the inside. Just like him.
Akaashi looked up again, at the white stained sky.
"Of all times, why does it have to snow now?" He heard a whisper.
Looking down he saw your eyes narrowed open, your check pressed against his chest.
"The snow is always so sad." You mumbled again.
"You may be right about that. Snow often represents death and sorrow. The opposite of a cherry blossom." Akaashi answered, trying to act as normal as possible.
Your eyes narrowed more.
"However, it won't be long until spring, and the white cherry blossoms will begin to bloom. So, wait with me, until then." Akaashi spoke softly, not like his usual self.
Somehow, he could tell you were smiling as you spoke, "I'll try."
Akaashi looked down at you with soft eyes, "Before its gets colder, we should go. I wouldn't like it if you got sick."
"As long as your not taking me home, I'll be okay." You offered a slight laugh.
Akaashi chuckled lightly, "Cause I'd take you back after that." He spoke sarcastically.
"Then I guess I'll get off you now." You joked as propped yourself off of Akaashi and stood up from the bench.
Akaashi stood up, walking to you instantly.
Your eyes widened as he wrapped your arms around you, his arms covering your lower back as he seemed to prop his head against yours.
Everything but the snow froze in time. There was no wind, nor lights, nor sound of traffic from afar. Only the silence of snow.Slowly, you wrapped your arms around him as well, letting your head rest against his shoulder. Your heart quickened, and your red tear stained face relaxed.
"Thank you, for not leaving me there." You mumbled."You seem to thank me more than I really deserve to be thanked." He answered.
"I think you deserve it. Most people run away after they see people break like that. To be honest, your reaction to it all kind of surprised me after I woke up." You responded.
