Chapter 32

Right now, Kai and I were waiting for the architect to come. Kai was going to introduce me to her and tell her that I would be her boss from now on. But not before I got to know her. Apparently, she was one of the best architects.

My jaw dropped when I saw her. Not in a good way. It was with disgust. She barely had any clothes on. Her top was deep cut showing most of her boobs leaving very little to the imagination. It was nearly see through and she wasn't even wearing a bra. And she was wearing shorts which seemed two sizes too small for her. They barely covered her ass.

"Hey Kai!" she entered and tried to kiss his lips but he pushed her away. I already don't like her. She is very bitchy. Seeing that she was trying to hit on Kai I moved closer to him and pecked him on his lips to show that woman that he was mine.

"Let's go. I want to see the plan." Kai told her and led her towards the throne room.

After seeing the plan for all the hotels, I was impressed. This woman- Tanya had that talent. But all this time she couldn't keep her hands to herself. When Kai moved away, form her and more closer to me, the disgusted looks she threw me were worse. But I didn't give a fuck about it.

"I think we can make some small changes in the layout." I suggested. Kai had told me to give my opinion on it.

"Okay. You talk about it to Tanya while I go make a call." Kai went out of the room. Tanya had her eyes on him all the time. She was literally eye fucking him.

"If you look at Kai, like that ever again, best architect or not, I will fire you." I warned her with an authoritative tone.

"You are forgetting who the boss is, bitch. Kai is my boss and you are one of his sluts. So you don't tell me what to." she said, her voice laced with venom.

"There is a change of plans. Now I am your boss. And I am not one of Kai's sluts. I am his fiancé." I said in a tone that made her cower away.

"Now let's continue." I said, smirking internally at my victory

"Hey Kai?"

"Yes?" he looked up at me.

"I was wondering if I could go to Jamie this weekend." I tried to ask casually.

"No. I won't be there this weekend. I will be going out of the city to do some stuff. So you can't go."

"But I can take bodyguards if you want. I don't care. I haven't met her in like forever." I suggested. I wanted to tell Jamie about my engagement. She was the only one who didn't know.

"No, Rose. Romano watches our every move. He will sure as hell do something if you are out alone."

"I will fight him then." I was getting angry.

"No, Rose! Now he knows what you are capable of. He will be ready. He will bring men." Kai's voice was raised.

"I HATE ALL THIS. You never let me go anywhere. You are always like 'Rose, don't do this, don't do that, Rose, don't go out alone.' I CAN'T DO IT, KAI!" my voice was totally raised. I was shouting at him. I didn't care. He couldn't control me like that.

"I DO ALL THAT BECAUSE I CARE ABOUT YOU ROSE! You don't know how ruthless people are. They will go to any extent with you to get to me. They killed Angelo's daughter to get to him. She was just two! Isn't that enough for you to know that you are not safe?!" he shouted at me. Both of us had lost our temper.

"I know! But you say it like nothing will happen to you, you say it like you are immortal or something! Do you think I am not scared for you when you go on those little missions of yours? I am! But I know that is what you do and I don't stop you." a tear escaped my eye.

"All I am trying to say is just let me have my freedom." I sat beside him and placed my hand in his.

"My dad... he told me he loved another woman before mom. She was killed in this mafia shit and after that he had become totally wasted. Completely broken. He did know what to do with his life until he met mom. It broke her to see him like that. But she fixed him and they loved each other. Just a few weeks after my mom died, dad died too. So, that is the reason he turned me into an cold hearted animal. But now, I love you and I don't want to change it. I just don't want any of this to happen to me." Kai was trying so hard not to break down.

"Hey, it's going to be okay, alright?" I placed my arms around his neck and hugged him.

"I am just to scared to lose my family, especially you, Rose." he said after he nodded.

"Don't worry everything will be fine." I assured him even though I myself didn't know what was coming.

I placed my lips on Kai's an kissed him. This kiss was not rough and lustful like the others. This kiss was filled with promise. A promise of love and protection.

Another intense -ish chapter. I did not plan all this. This chapter was going to end in a very different way. But I though of this as I wrote.
