Chapter 10

I came back from the kitchen with a tub of ice cream for Leo and me. I was planning to give him a surprise treat while we watched a movie. Even though it was from his own refrigerator, ice cream is ice cream for the both of us. It still counts.

I went in the TV room to find it empty. I thought he would be there. At least he said so yesterday. I asked a servant where he was and he told me that Leo was in the basement.

I walked down to the basement and found him practicing shooting with Kai in a room. He was only twelve years old. He had started using guns already!

Of course. I told myself. Kai had given him weapons as a gift for his birthday last week.

I remember him telling me that the actual mafia training started once you were seven years of age. Normal kids play with toy cars and learn addition and subtraction at this age. Did he know anything about other kids?

I planned to take him to a public park where he can interact with other kids sometime. Though I highly doubted Kai would allow that.

"Hi" I entered.

Leo smiled at me but Kai just gave me a look. So nice of him. I decided to ignore him.

"Guns! Can I have a try Leo?" I naturally had a good aim. I wanted to have a go with guns.

"Yeah sure." He smiled when Kai said no at the same time.

"I asked Leo and he said yes." I moved forward and tried to pick a gun.

"I am training him and I said no." he stepped in front of me, putting a hand on the gun I was trying to take.

"Please, just one try." I pleaded with a puppy face. It always worked on Jamie. I hoped it would work on him too.

"No." I think he hesitated. My plan was working.

"Come on Kai, don't be a dick. Just one try."

"Okay." Yay!

He gave me a small rifle. The classic shoot the red target thing. He helped me position my stance. When he touched me, I felt tingles run down my whole body. He surely had some effects on me.

"Pull the trigger when you feel like." He said.

I evened my breathing, aimed the gun at the target and pulled the trigger. The bullet hit the red plane. I squeaked and jumped with happiness.

Kai's jaw dropped. I pushed it back in place and fake smiled at him. Maybe I could take another chance.

"Let me have another go" and he nodded. I think that was because he thought that was just luck and really wanted to test my skills.

This time, I hit the target too. And the one after that, then the next one. I had many tries and the bullet hit the target most of the times. Told you, I was good at aiming.

"She is so good Kai. I think you have to make her practice on a disk." Leo suggested.

"I am really good." I smirked. That was enough for his ego.

"Let's try that." Even I was ready to test myself.

Now, I had to shoot a disk which would pop out of the ground. Sounds difficult. But I am always up for a challenge.

Kai was happy when I missed the first shot and the one after that. But on the third one it was a close miss. And as you guessed, on the fourth turn, I shot the disk making it shatter into pieces.

"What! " Kai's eyebrows disappeared in the locks of hair on his forehead. He looked so hot.

"I am a fast learner. Thanks for helping me with guns Kai." I said with a sweet smile.

"Nice skills with the guns, Rose. Kai was kinda impressed. I could tell." Leo said as we played on his new Xbox.

"Kai and impressed?" I scoffed.

"Oh come on, he is a nice guy." I wondered if Leo had a head injury? Lai was his version of nice to Leo but not to me.

"Yeah, really nice" I said sarcastically. Then I remembered about the park.

"Hey Leo, do you want to go to a park with me?"

"Why?"

"I don't know, maybe to see how other kids your age behave. You will have fun." I reassured him.

"Okay but I will have to ask Kai."

"Can't we go without telling him?" I was sure he would say no.

"No. He would be really angry and you don't want to see an angry Kai."

"Okay"

"Can I take Leo to the park today?" I asked though without success. He said no even before I finished my sentence.

Idea!

"Dana, will you and Lex come with us?" I looked at Dana who was trying to feed Lexi.

"Yeah sure" she looked at Enzo.

"You will have to take the guards." Enzo said. Kai seemed to disagree but said nothing. Guards! Would they be following us around?

"Will they follow us all around?" I asked innocently.

"Well, that is the whole point of bodyguards." Enzo said with a hint of a smile.

"But I don't want them following us everywhere." I whined.

"It is my decision not yours." Kai spat.

"Can't you tell them to come but hide in the shadows like they show in the movies?" I must have sounded stupid but I was a little excited. I never had this experience before.

"They always do that. Something I am glad about." Dana sighed. Lex had finally allowed her to feed.

I sat on the grass with Dana as if we were on a picnic. Leo was flirting with other older girls in the park. Mini Kai. Lex was fast asleep. She looked so much like Enzo with Dana's blonde hair.

"I received a text from Enzo. He has asked us to get back home in an hour."

"We can wait here for 20 more minutes. Driving back takes about 40 minutes." I said laying down on the grass. This part of the park was pretty quiet. No one was here. We were surrounded by shady trees.

I called Leo. He had asked me to call him a little before we left so that he could spend some time with us.

"Hey lil' guy. Did you enjoy?"

"Yes." he smiled

Suddenly I felt someone grab me from behind. They had one hand on my mouth.

Though it had been long since I left a cliffhanger. What do you think is happening?

Also, my vacations are over.😒 So I am not sure about the updates but I will make sure it is not longer than 6-7 days.
