After great efforts, last night, I managed to convince Kai. I promised him that I would be back before he was. I knew he wouldn't be back before 10 p.m. or maybe even midnight so I had the entire day.

Enzo was going to drop me. The both of them were going to go on a date/ picnic with Lexi.

"Come on Enzo let's go!" I shouted. Excitement overflowed out of me.

"And they say girls take time." Dana said sarcastically.

"We are going on a date Dana. I need my time." he defended.

Finally, after a long yet fun drive I arrived at my aunt's.

I felt like I hadn't been here in forever. But it was just eight to nine months. So much had happened since then. Last time I was here, I was jumping up and down like a kid, excited about my graduation. And today, I would be announcing that I was getting married. Times change drastically.

I had also decided that I was going to tell her about the mafia. Surprisingly, Kai himself had suggested it. 'You can tell her about the mafia if you trust her enough. I would like to stay clean about stuff.' he said. Though he did not suggest how to tell her that. That was the advice which was the most necessary for me. I remember when Kai had told me, I practically ran out of the house while acting cool on the outside. I guess I just had to go with the flow once I told her.

I took a deep breath as I rang the doorbell nervously.

"Rose!" Jamie gasped opening the door.

"Hi Jamie!"

"Oh dear, what a pleasant surprise." she hugged me.

She made me sit and baked me my favourite chocolate cake. She did that every time I came here. It was like a tradition.

"So what have you been doing lately? " she asked offering me my third helping.

"I have been... busy." I replied, not knowing what to say.

Lie. I have been in Kai's house lying around all day doing nothing and am anything but busy. The house help makes life so much easier.

"Doing what? You are still living with your boyfriend right?" she raised an eyebrow.

"Yes. I am. I have been working on a project of his too." I said referring to Kai's new hotels.

"Hmm." she nodded her head.

"You know...." I sighed. " I am getting married." I looked up at her to see her reaction.

"WHAT?!" she shouted so loudly I bet the people next door heard her too. Otherwise, her reaction was full of surprise. At least she didn't look disappointed.

"Yep. You heard it right. He is a nice guy Jamie" I said.

"Okay. Are you happy?" she asked.

"Very much" I said giving her my toothy smile.

"Good then. I am happy too. Congratulations, Rose!" she beamed at me.

"Also, I want to tell you something Jamie. It's kinda important." I sighed.

"Yeah. Go on." she nodded.

"Kai is involved in the mafia." I dropped the bomb.

"What?! Girl, you are surely going to give me a heart attack today." she took it better than expected. I just laughed nervously.

"Rose, I honestly don't care what he does okay? I just want you to be happy with the man you love. Just be safe." she said.

"Thanks Jamie!" I hugged her. She was so understanding.

"Now that my little girl is getting married, I want to spend some time with her." she said, pulling away.

And with that, we started doing all things I liked to do with Jamie when I was younger. Including going to the mall mostly just to try all the clothes on and barely buy anything. Of course my bodyguard would be following us around. But mostly without being seen.

After returning from the mall late in the afternoon, I suggested that we go through some of my childhood photos. There were loads of them in the attic. And that lead to remembering older memories which I loved doing with Jamie. She made even my most embarrassing moment fun to listen to.

"Hey Jamie, can I take this with me?" I asked holding up my favourite photo. I was dressed just like a fairy. Jamie had clicked that when she had first brought me home.

"Of course honey." tears threatened to spill from her eyes. She always got emotional when the subject of me getting separated from my parents came up.

"Thanks" I said smiling and tried to make her happy and smiling again.

Just then, I received a text from Kai saying that Axel- my bodyguard would be here to pick me up soon.

I understood Kai's meaning of soon when the doorbell rang two minutes later and found Axel standing there.

Sometimes, I was confused whether Axel was my bodyguard or babysitter.

"Bye Jamie" I gave her a goodbye hug.

"Goodbye" she said. The tears from earlier spilled from her eyes.

I arrived home after an entertaining ride. Axel had a good sense of humour.

After placing my photo on the nightstand, I went inside for a long, hot and calming shower.

Some movement outside announced Kai's arrival. He had returned earlier than expected. I waited for him to enter inside to shower with me but I was surprised when he didn't. Was something wrong? He never missed a chance to shower with me.

I quickly wrapped a towel around myself and went outside to see Kai sitting on the bed, looking at the photo I had brought.

"Is this you?" he asked confused and slightly worried.

"Yes. Why?" I furrowed my brows confused as to why he looked worried.

"I have seen a similar photo at the Chambers'. It is their daughter's"

"Are you sure? Because this is the only copy."

"Yes. Positive. The girl and the dress is same. Just the background is different."

I stood there open mouthed waiting for him to voice out my thoughts.

"You might be their daughter, Rose."
