King and Queen of Mafia

Chapter 2

Could this day get any worse? I discover that my so called roommate is a mafia king and that someone is following me on the same day. Why are they even doing that?

Me: Who is this Romano? And what should I do? Can you please help me?

Kai: One question at a time, love. Turn on your location for now. And try not to panic.

I turned on my location. I was not sure if I trusted him, but he was my only chance. He knew something about this man and how to handle this situation. Hopefully. I decided to turn on my location.

Me: Done. And about the panic part, I know kickboxing.

Kai: Wow! I am coming. Don't do anything stupid.

As if I would. That pig didn't even know me. I know, even though he is helping me he is still an arrogant bastard. I don't think that will ever change.

Kai's POV

The Romano's were our family's enemies for years. Me and Colton and before us, our fathers. That bloody man's father Davon killed my mom. I did get my revenge by killing him but his son was a different story. No matter what we do, that man does not die.

I wonder why Colton would ask his men to follow Rose. Who was she? I made a mental note to run a background check about her. And now that she knew about my identity, she was not going anywhere. I was going to take her straight to my mansion after getting her out of this.

 I don't even know why and how I let the mafia thing slip through my mouth. It just felt right at the moment. Not anymore. I regret it ever since.

I called Enzo and told him to bring a few men along. He was my right hand and just like my brother. We grew up together. His father had vowed his and his heir's service to my dad. He was just a year younger than me.

I ensured backup because Colton was totally unpredictable. I had destroyed his drug base today. That was the reason I came here and was now in this bloody mess. So that called for extra protection too.

Rose was a little far from here. It took 15 minutes to reach there. She was pretty shocked I guess. I don't think she was that scared. This was a first. Men would flinch at just the mention of my name.

I reached where she was. It was some diner. Very isolated and outdated I might add. I entered ensuring that my gun was fully loaded. Might need that.

The sight I saw, I could tell she was no ordinary girl. It seemed like she had tackled them. She even had a cut across her forehead. Really brave, hot and stupid act. 

Rose's POV

I sat there, relieved that I was getting help. I had been learning kickboxing from thirteen years of age out of interest. But this whole mafia thing was new for me. I didn't know how dangerous these men were. They could kill me for all I know.

I continued to eat my ice cream. Don't blame me, I had to do something or else it would look suspicious.

I felt their gazes burn on me and I looked towards them. I gave them a cold look.

I guess that was their que, because they literally pounced on me. I stabbed a man closest to me with the knife on the table. This was the first time I was doing something this cruel. But I didn't have much regret because the men themselves were cruel.

Usually, violence was not my problem. I found it helpful to cool me down when I was angry. That was another reason for me to learn a martial art.

Man 2 tried to grab my wrists but I punched him straight on his nose which broke. I saw the third man calling for backup on his cell out of the corner of my eye.

Kai had to arrive. If their people arrived earlier, I don't know if I will survive. Come on Kai.

I thought that someone was behind me and quickly turned around. I felt something cut my forehead just above my eye. Sharp pain followed. The man was holding the knife I had used on them earlier. I grabbed his wrist and disarm me before he could do anything else to me.

After a few minutes of punching and stabbing, Kai finally arrived. He just stood there for a second taking in what was happening and then, takin out his gun, shot them in their legs.

It was a wonder why they didn't use their guns on me. I would save that for later.

Kai came towards me and examined my wound. I felt pain when he ran a thumb along it and something else too.

"Get in the car, Enzo will help you." and I left him to take care of the situation

I stepped outside. There were a few cars but it was not difficult to guess which one was Kai's.

I got in his Audi. Inside was a man around Kai's age. He too looked sexy. Just like Kai was. But Kai was way different for some reason.

"Hi" 

"Hi" he replied. He seemed way nicer than Kai but he too looked intimidating.

"I'm Rose. Kai sent me here."

"Yeah I know. I am Lorenzo. Now, let's mend that wound " he applied some first aid and antiseptic. That's when it stung the most which caused me to gasp.

"I know, it will sting. Luckily it is not that deep so it will get better within a few days.

After nearly half an hour, Kai returned.

" That's the longest you have took to kill three people, bro" Lorenzo teased. 

"Colton was there." Kai said coldly. Lorenzo stiffened.

None of this made any sense to me.

"What happened Kai?" I asked worriedly.

"Nothing. You are not going back to that apartment."

"I know. I am going to move out next week."

"No. You are coming with me to my mansion." 

"Why? " I tried to stop myself from getting angry.

"Because I want you to." and that made all my efforts to control my anger fail.

"What do you mean because I want you to? You can't fucking tell me what to do."

"I can." he said with an edge to his voice. It was so scary that I had to go with him. I don't know what he would do to me if I didn't. After all, he was a monster who killed people.
