Chapter 22

Merry Christmas Enzo, Merry Christmas Dana." I wished as soon as I entered the kitchen. 

"Merry Christmas." both said in unison."

"Who's making breakfast?" I asked.

 I asked this because the chef was on Christmas break. There was a tradition in Kai's mansion that all employees and his men would get a Christmas break from a day before Christmas until 1st of January. Those who did not have any home to go back to could stay in the mansion and either work or do whatever they want. The mansion was digitally secured until then. Even though Kai acted all cold and ruthless, he was just kind, cute and adorable once you actually knew him.

"We are." Enzo replied standing beside Dana while she made breakfast.

"We meaning Enzo will hand me ingredients that too the wrong ones while make everything." I laughed at this. I know I have said for like a thousand times but they were such a cute couple.

"What are you making?" I asked,  joining them.

"Nothing much. Just French toast and
Egg Croissant Casserole."

"Cool. I will just be standing here because I don't know a thing about cooking."

"Where is Kai?" Enzo asked.

"He was still asleep when I came downstairs."

"But now he is here." Kai appeared in the doorway, making me jump.

"When did you- anyways, Merry Christmas!" I said as I ran to him and kissed him on his lips.

"Merry Christmas!" he replied, pulling back and kissing again.

"Let's open the gifts! I have waited all day." I said impatiently after dinner. Kai's family had a tradition to open gifts after dinner.

I had bought a dress for Dana, a video game for Leo, some really cute soft toys for Lex, and tickets to Italy for Enzo because both Enzo and Dana wanted to go there but never had the time. I got a whiskey decanter and a framed photo of us for Kai. I know Kai's gift was a little weird but I had no fucking idea what to gift him.

Kai had gifted me a pair of diamond earrings and a set of blades. Cool combination. I also got a gun from Enzo and a knife from Leo. Dana had given me a bag. 

"Great gifts everybody." I smiled looking at the row of weapons in front of me.

"We gift weapons to someone who is new in the family." Kai shrugged. So he considered me a part of his family. That was so nice.

"Now is my favourite part!" Dana exclaimed.

"Making you two kiss under the mistletoe! Come on!" Enzo completed and clapped his hands like a small child.

I blushed as both of us stepped under the mistletoe. I looked up at Kai as he pulled me closer to him by my waist. He placed his lips on mine, giving me a soft kiss.

"I love you, Kai." I said, lost in his blue eyes.

"I love you too Rose." he kissed my forehead.

"Do you, Rose Walters, take Kai Parker as you lawfully wedded husband?" Enzo joked, trying to keep a straight face but failing just as miserably as I failed to erase this blush off my face.

"Shut up Enzo." I said and Kai just glared at him "Come on, now it's your chance to kiss." I said as we moved away from under the mistletoe.

Enzo and Dana walked to where we previously stood and kissed each other. They were so in love with each other. It was so cute.

"It sucks to be single." Leo said. He was sitting on the sofa all this time. He said just what Kai would have said if he was in a situation like this at Leo's age. 

"You're just 12 Leo." Enzo said, turning to him.

"Don't worry Leo. You will find your girl when the time comes." I smiled at him. 

"You always have me if you need some tips little bro." Kai smirked.

"I don't think he would need those. He is pretty good at that already. All three of you are." Dana shook her head.

"Even I had got these on our first Christmas together." Dana said once it was just the both of us in the room. The guys had gone to the theatre room to select a movie to watch.

"They gift them so that the women can protect themselves. But you usually don't need them. The men in this family are so devoted once the find the woman they love. She is their light in this dark world." she continued as we walked towards the theatre room.

"Yeah. I know only three men from this family well, one is just a boy but they get totally possessive over their woman." I smiled.

I know this was a really short chapter. But this is a Christmas chapter! I actually wanted to upload this on Christmas but it didn't fit.

I don't know much about Christmas traditions so please I may be wrong somewhere.
