Y/N

''He's late.''

''He's never late.''

''Is he hungover again?''

I lean my head on the palm of my hand as I listen to the whispers of my classmates. Levi didn't show up in class this hour, which rarely ever happened, so everyone was confused. I don't wanna think too much of it, he's probably ill or hungover. Luckily Reiner didn't sit next to me this time, for some reason he didn't want to sit next to me.

Well, it was probably because of what happened at the festival.

''Do you have any idea where he is?'' Eren asked me, tapping my arm as he spoke quietly. I hummed as he interrupted my thoughts and cleared my throat, ''no, I don't. I don't wanna think too much of it, though. He's probably just ill.''

''Hm, yeah. Maybe he's still hungover... is that possible? being hungover for about three days?'' he questioned as he looked up at the ceiling. I didn't know. I nibbled on my bottom lip as I started to doodle in my notebook until I felt Eren tapping my arm again, ''hey,'' he said, ''it's going to be okay. Don't overthink the situation too much.''

''Mhm, I'll try,'' I nod and crack a smile at him. Eren always tried to reassure me that things were going to be okay between me and Levi, considering the situation with Reiner. It's nice to have a friend care about you so much.

I couldn't help but worry about Levi. It felt like something bad was going to happen soon. It's like a gut feeling and it was causing stress and thoughts to void my mind.

Levi

''Levi,'' Erwin called out my name as I stepped a foot into his office. He told me to come there the second I entered the school building, which means I had to miss my class and didn't have any time to find a substitute. Tch, talk about unprofessional.

''What is it, Erwin? If there's something you want to say, spit it out,'' I spoke, crossing my arms in front of my chest and lean against the door I had just closed behind me. Erwin skimmed through the papers on his desk, his eyes not leaving them. He cleared his throat and looked up from his work, his eyes piercing through me. I knit my brows together and narrow my eyes, waiting for him to speak.

''Take a seat,'' he casually said, the tone in his voice not making it clear if he was angry or not. I did what I got told. I sat down in front of his desk, my expression not changing as I glared at Erwin. He kept quiet for a few seconds, holding his hands together on his desk and staring into my eyes.

''I trusted you and you broke it,'' he said abruptly and I swallowed thickly, getting a hunch of where this was going to. I clenched my jaw, the anger already building up inside of me as I realised Reiner must have spoken a word to Erwin. I should have punched him harder back at the parentings evening.

''Reiner Braun is in your history class, right?''

''Yes.''

''When he attended this school a few weeks ago he told me you were in a romantic relationship with a student. He told me this in the same week he started here.''

My eyes widen. He told Erwin weeks ago which meant the blackmail was for nothing. It was just for his own pleasure. He liked having the control because if I let my guard down he would tell Erwin, I thought. But he had already told him, so it was all for nothing. I ball my fist as I try my best to stay calm and not let my guard down. Erwin could not have any proof.

''He told me you were in a romantic relationship with Y/N L/N. I didn't believe him, of course. Because, Levi, I thought you knew what that would mean for your job but you know I can't do anything other than fire you right now.''

''I'm not dating that annoying brat.''

''Levi,'' he shook his head, ''a part of me believed Reiner because I had to take it seriously, which is why I wanted to give you time to distance yourself from the girl. If you were dating her, which you were. I even told you a few times to distance yourself. I have given you multiple chances. I told you on the parentings evening and I told you when I called you over to my office a little while ago. I gave you time to end things with her, but you simply didn't listen.''

I didn't know what to say.

''Age does not matter in this situation. The two of you are adults and in any other situation, your relationship would be fine and I wouldn't care about it. But a teacher dating a student is not fine. It's illegal and I can't let that happen at my school. I won't allow it. So, I have to take my responsibly as the principal of this school and let you go.''

''Tch.''

''You could have ended things and you would still have your job, Levi, but you chose not to. There's no one to blame but yourself.''

''I am not dating her,'' I tried, even though I knew it was useless. I didn't know what to do in this situation. I was losing my job because of a relationship. I swallowed thickly and inhaled deeply, I tried to choose my words, but to no avail.

''Let's say you aren't dating her; kissing a student is not allowed either. I saw you two on the rooftop at the festival. Levi, there is no reason for you to deny anything. I saw it with my own eyes, Reiner just gave me a push to pay more attention to the both of you.''

''Alright, Erwin,'' I said, my eyes downcast.

''I'm glad you understand,'' he said, smiling like it was funny. He cleared his throat and picked his papers together, ''I've already called Y/N's father and explained the situation to him and he's on his way here. So, if I were you, I wouldn't proceed with this relationship any further. I'm very sure mister L/N won't allow his daughter to date you.''

''Yes.''

''Good, Levi, I'm sorry things have to go this way,'' his tone remained firm, ''you can leave right now. Pick up your stuff from your office on your way out of the school. I hope to see you around, maybe we could grab a drink sometime.''

I didn't reply because my was blood boiling at this point. I knew what I was getting myself into when I started dating Y/N, but it affected me more than I thought. The job meant more to me than I thought. So, losing it left a bitter taste in my mouth.

''I also told Y/N to come to my office right now,'' Erwin added, ''I'll talk to her about the situation with her father.'' Such useless information, I didn't have to know that.

I nodded once before standing up, patting some dust off my pants as I looked at Erwin, who watched every move I made. I left his office, closing the door behind me and met her eyes, worry obviously seen in them whilst her father stood next to her.
