"Shut up you stupid thing" you throw the phone across the room against the wall.

You turn your head back to the table and you scan all the numbers. "What can I do. Staring is useless..." You take the pen on the table and a piece of paper and you start counting how many of the same numbers there are.

"Nine ones"
"Eight twos"
"Three threes"
And so on...

After you counted all the numbers, you notice that there are as many different numbers as the amount of numbers you need to open the lock: six in total.

"This can't be a coincidence" you whisper to yourself.

You start writing the information down in a more clear way.

1 | 9
2 | 8
3 | 3
4 | 7
5 | 7
6 | 3

You pull the box towards you and start filling in the numbers from the second row. "Nine, eight, three..."

You can feel the metal rolling roughly under your fingers. The friction between your skin and the ribbed metal leaves burning red marks on your finger tips.

After you entered all the numbers, you press the red button on the side and start shaking the lock. But, no movement at all.

Then the phone on the other side of the room starts buzzing and the annoying female voice come out again: "Code is incorrect, two tries left."

"AGHHHH" you hit the box. "HOW CAN THIS BE WRONG"

You check the numbers again but you didn't make a mistake.

While you press your hands against your face and you start leaning back in your chair you hear the phone again.

"Five minutes left. Remaining players: 6. Escaped players: 3"

"No time for this, come on Y/N."

The only thing that comes to mind is counting all the numbers on the sheet again.

"Four minutes left. Remaining players: 5. Escaped players: 4"

"Three minutes left. Remaining players: 4. Escaped players: 4"

The only thing that can be heard in the room is your loud breathing and a pen sliding in short movements over a piece of paper.

You start making the same figure with the information next to the old one.

1 | 9    -    1 | 9
2 | 8   -    2 | 8
3 | 3   -    3 | 3
4 | 7   -    4 | 7
5 | 7   -    5 | 6
6 | 3   -    6 | 3

"FIVE, FIVE IS WRONG OMG"

You turn the fifth wheel on the lock for almost a full circle to number six (because the wheel can only roll upwards) and you press the button again while pulling hard on the top part of the lock.

*buzz* Code in incorrect. One try left"

"F*ck this man I'm done."

You push the box off the table and you kick it across the room where it ends up in the hallway.

Tears start to roll down your cheeks. "WHY? WHAT DID I DO WRONG?! I WAS SO CLOSE"
