The Last Game - Alice in Borderland x Reader

"Well Uhm" you say while looking at Usagi and Arisu. "Let's go I guess?"

The other two agree and you start to walk back to the apartment located in the center of Tokyo.

This apartment belonged to your best friend Maya. You two ended up together in this dangerous world and the two of you lived in this apartment together for a few weeks. But after a big fight between the two of you she ran off and never returned.

So you currently use the apartment as a safe place where you can sleep and eat. You sleep in the bedroom together with Usagi and Kuina as Arisu en Chishiya sleep in the living room.

As the three of you walk back you see that Arisu is completely lost in his thoughts and no longer pays attention to the world around him.

"Arisu, watch your step before you bump into something, or trip over something." Usagi says warningly. She noticed it too.

"Mhm" Arisu nods, but you can tell that he isn't paying any attention to what Usagi is saying to him.

"WATCH OUT!"

You pull Arisu to the side by his shoulder so that he doesn't run into a lamppost.

"You dumbass." Usagi says as she shakes her head laughing a bit.

"Sorry..."

Arisu starts walking again as he rubs his hand over the back of his neck, starting to sink into his thoughts again.

"What are you thinking off?" you ask as you couldn't suppress your curiosity.

"I'm thinking about what the man said. I mean, it could be true, he already used me once. Who says that he wouldn't do it again?"

"Well, that was a whole different situation. Back then he had a plan to steal something. Now his plan is just collecting all the cards and get out of here. And we know that he would never sacrifice himself, we have know that since the beginning. So that's no reason to kick him out." Usagi says while she is trying to walk on the curb.

"Exactly, plus he's smart and comes up with good plans and ideas, so we need him." you say, agreeing with Usagi.

"Anddd... I don't want him as my enemy. Let's be honest, if he is our enemy, we will be dead in a few hours." you add laughing while Arisu nods

"True."

You arrive at the apartment complex and walk through the smashed sliding doors at entrance of the building. The stairs that you have to walk have recently become much heavier because of the lack of sleep and your exhausted body.

The front door is already opened so you can walk straight through.

You kick off your shoes and run to one of the two couches where you drop yourself on top of the bunch of pillows. "Ahh finally, some rest."

"Be carful with my bed you" Arisu says with a laugh.

"Hey Kuina, do you need any help with the food?" Usagi offers while she is taking off her shoes.

"She's not here" Chishiya says, coming out of the kitchen with a pan of rice.

"What do you mean ShE's NoT hErE?" Arisu says irritated with a some concern in his voice as he changes his dirty t-shirt with a new one.

"Just as I say it. The door was still locked when I came here and the key was still under the flower pot."

Chishiya takes the pan to the dining table and puts it on a coaster.

"You said she went straight home?" You sit up straight, feeling a bad feeling in your stomach.

"Mhm" Chishiya hums in response as he fills the plates with rice and some sauce.

Usagi stands next to him and says: "How did you creat fire to cook all that? We used the last bit of gas yesterday..."

FYI: there is a gas stove in the kitchen, so they can use it to cook stuff. But they do need gas bottles for that and those are really hard to find because The Beach has already used most of them.

"I found a new way a few days ago." Chishiya sits down at the table and the others do the same.

"A few blocks away, you can find a survival shop with all kind of things. So when I saw that we were running out of gas, I went there to look for new gas bottles because I thought that they sell that kind of stuff there. Sadly they didn't. But I did find other stuff."

He takes a bite of his food for a short break and continues talking.

"I saw a barbecue and then came up with an idea: If I bring a barbecue and some coal, I can make a fire with it. There where no lighters but I did find this."

He starts digging in his pocket and takes out a firesteel and throws it on the table.

"With some newspapers and book pages that I got from a bookshop I can make a fire on the balcony and light the barbecue. We can cook in it and even bake stuff like meat on it if we want to."

"I told you we needed him." You whisper proudly to Arisu who rolls his eyes playfully and nods.

"Honestly, that doesn't sound like a bad plan... Why didn't you tell us earlier?" Arisu says while he picks up the firesteel and looks at it closely.

In the corner of your eyes you see that Chishiya starts laying back in his chair smirking.

"I didn't tell you because it is not the most practical plan. Today the fire somehow turned on very easily, but normally it can take an hour to actually work."

Usagi nods "That's right, but at least we have a different option now."

It started to rain outside so you guys bring the barbecue inside and put it in the kitchen. It is quite while you finish your meal.

Usagi finds the silence kind of awkward and starts talking about Kuina: "She would never leave with no reason. Was there a fight or something?"

Everyone shakes their heads. Usagi sighs and scrapes the left over rice off her plate. "Then there is nothing else to do but wait for her to come back."

"What if we are going to look for her? We still have lots of visa days left so we have some time to find her?." Arisu suggests.

"Don't be stupid. You will never find her. Tokyo is too big." Chishiya says scoffing while he finishes his water.

You start clearing the table and say: "We will leave the door open and go to sleep. If she has walked away herself, she can find her way back herself."

Everyone agrees with the plan and starts getting ready to go to bed.

"WAIT!" Chishiya says out of the blue with an aggressive tone. "Where's the card. You took the card with you, right?!" His eyes look at us sharply.

"Right?!"
