The Last Game - Alice in Borderland x Reader

~ 12 ~

"I can't believe that he did it that way! Like how could you do that?! He was such an asshole."

You and Usagi have been sharing stories of your life before Borderland all afternoon. You are now telling her a story about how a guy who broke up with your best friend through text. And let's just say, you were so pulled into your own story that you didn't realise what was going on around you.

"A normal person would never do that, right?!"

No reaction

You look up and see that Usagi has fallen asleep. "Ouch, the fact that you fell asleep in the middle of my amazing story kind of hurt my feelings, not gonna lie" you say with a sigh while leaning your back against the side of the bed.

You can't blame Usagi tho. She's having a hard time because of her wounds. They have to heal and that takes a lot of time and energy. 4 days have passed since the night of the accident. The wounds are healing well.

You get up and pull the blanket over Usagi. "Well, if she sleeps, she must sleep well." you mutter to yourself.

You walk into the living and plop on one of the couches. Life is very boring these days. All you do is sit at home, eat and sometimes look for useful things. You look around and your eyes fall on the flat box under Chishiya's couch/bed.

Ever since you knew that that box exists, you want to look into it. Keeping yourself in check when you are curious isn't something you are good at, so a mystery box certainly won't help.

You look at the clock: 3:30 PM

Arisu and Chishiya have been gone for a few hours, looking for food and new clothes. They can come back any time soon.

But your eyes fall back on the box. "A quick look can't hurt now can it?" you say to yourself.

You walk to the box, kneel and pull the box towards you. You put it on the ground next to you and open it. To your surprise, there is not much to see: a few keys such as the key to his office and probably his house keys, his wallet, drawings and the black leather tube.

You pick up the tube carefully and you pull off the ribbon that was wrapped around the tube and open it.

On top you see a transparant box containing black earphones. Underneath you see a white, old, plastic CD player. You can see that is has been used often.

You hold the case tilted so that you can take out the CD player and earphones, but the moment you do that, all kinds of round CD cases slide out as well. They were piled up at the bottom of the tube.

All the CD cases look pretty much the same. The only thing that makes them different from each other is the text written on the covers with a black maker. You pick one up and read "Harry Styles".

"Harry Styles? Is this a Harry Styles CD?" you ask yourself. You open the case and you see a basic silver CD. You take the CD player, put the CD in, plug in the earphones and press play. To your surprise, the batteries are still working.

You get startled because of the loud music that suddenly comes out of the earphones. And indeed, a Harry Styles song called 'Watermelon Sugar' started playing. You smile. "Never expected him to listen to this kind of music, but alright."

You turn down the volume of the music and keep 1 earphone in for background music. The next CD you pick up had 'Pokemon' written on it. You laugh softly and envision him, jamming on the Pokemon theme song.

And so you slowly go through all the CDs. Several artists come by. Some that you didn't expect at all, and some that fits his personality perfectly.
