Sumire stood beside Kyoya. It was time to open the club and she had been granted the honor of standing with the hosts when they greet their guests when they first open the doors.

"Do I look okay?", Sumire asked mostly to herself as she brushed non-existent dust off her clothes.

"You look charming", Kyoya complimented, pushing up his glasses.

(I can't count how many times I've typed that Kyoya pushed his glasses up)

Magical rose petals swirled towards the door as it slowly swung open.

"Welcome to the Ouran Host Club!", they all said, the tornado of petals slowly dying down to reveal a child.

Hikaru and Kaoru leaned forward looking at the boy, "It's only a kid"

"Not only that it's just a boy", Kaoru shrugged disinterested.

"What's wrong little boy? Did you come into my palace in search of something?", Tamaki greeted getting up from his "throne".

The boy looked at Tamaki weirdly, "Eh... Are you the king of this place?"

Tamaki went into shock at the word of "king", Sumire shook her head relaxing a little. For some reason greeting the guests along with the rest was pretty nervewracking.

"Well are you?", the kid asked again.

"Come closer little one", Tamaki commanded and the boy did walk forward.

"What was it did you call me little boy?"

"The king"

Tamaki sighed dramatically going full into euphoria, "Ah~ The king! Yes I am the king of the Ouran Host Club! Long live the host king!"

"Good lord", Sumire mumbled.

"I'm an elementary fifth year", the boy announced, pointing at Tamaki, "Shiro Takaoji. I want the host club king to take me on as an apprentice!"

Sumire zoomed around making small talk as she served the guests, something she had now incorporated in her daily routine. Kyoya had instructed her to greet the guests with them as practice when she begins hosting, which was tomorrow. Kyoya had a whole new table arranged just for her.

She had asked who would serve the guests but apparently they had gone by without her for a while so they would be alright in managing it, although it did save them the time effort when Sumire came.

Looking around to see if anyone else needed anything and finding none, Sumire headed over to Haruhi and Kyoya who looked free of guests.

"Hey Sumire", Haruhi greeted.

"Yo"

"I heard you're going to start hosting?"

"Just for a few days. And if it works out then I'll continue"

Haruhi nodded, "Sounds like a plan. Anyways, don't you think it's weird he's making the kid observe him up close?", signaling to Tamaki and his new apprentice.
