"Welcome back ladies," the host club chorused before throwing rose petals that blew up in the air shrouding their presence, as the petals fell the hosts were now in their designated tables, or rather, their chabudai, a traditional Japanese table. Today they were in the garden, dressed in Hanfu's and Kimono's.
A large flock of yellows paraded through the garden hedge. In the sea of daffodils were a few daisies that lingered awkwardly, unsure of where to go.
"Welcome princes, I am Kyoya Ootori, Have you booked an appointment?" Kyoya asked the two boys who jumped a little surprised.
"Er- Yes I'm Kaito, and this is Len, were here for Sumire?" Kaito trailed off looking at his friend beside him who shivered at the cold aura that emanated from Kyoya.
"Ah yes here it is, you have an hour with the hostess. Enjoy," Kyoya said stiffly throwing a smile to sell the part, waving a hand towards Sumire who was playing with the flower arrangements at her table.
"Oh thank you-" Len tried to say but Kyoya was already talking to a small gaggle of girls that seemed new as well.
Kaito bumped his shoulder motioning to their table, Len following his lead.
"Ah, first timers?" Sumire waved hello, "It might be a bit overwhelming at first but I promise you'll get used to it pretty quickly, please, take a seat.
"H-hi," Len choked out nervously fiddling with his fingers.
"Forgive him, I'm Kaito and this is Len, were cousins and we just transferred here and the host club seems to be the talk of the school," Kaito introduced themselves, slapping Len on the back.
"That much is true, tea? We have cakes too, its free of charge for first ever guests so take as much as you guys want," Sumire offered, pouring them some tea as they nodded yes.
"So uh, this host thing, you been doing this for long?" Kaito asked a weird look on his face as he spotted the twins doing a "scene".
"Started a few weeks ago, see that boy over there?" Sumire pointed far off across the garden, Len and Kaito following her finger, "That's Haruhi, I just joined because he did, and I didn't have a club."
"Do you do that too?" Len piped up pointing at Tamaki who was looking like he was about to kiss a guest.
Sumire sweatdropped, "Not necessarily, unless you would like me to?"
Kaito and Len chorused a bunch of no's making Sumire laugh, "I'm more of a conversational type anyways so you guys can relax."
Sumire stretched as the last of the guests left laying on the grass letting the sun shine all over. A shadow loomed over blocking the sun and Sumire opened one eye to see Haruhi looking down at her.
"You're blocking my spotlight."
"For the first time I think things are going well, " Haruhi smiled a serene look taking over her face, "It's so peaceful, I guess I'm finally getting used to-"
"Haruhi! Duck!," Tamaki yelled tackling Haruhi to the ground as a ball flew past them mere inches away, landing on one of the school windows breaking it.
Tamaki jumped up in yelling angrily at the twins who just looked unbothered. Bickering turned to yelling turned to a game of chase, just the usual.
Haruhi rolled over towards Sumire laying right beside her staring at the sky, "I jinxed it."
Sumire chuckled looking over to the newly broken window, staring back at the dark figure that seemed to be looking down at them.
'Why does that look like an evil villain', Sumire thought, before looking back up at the sky watching the clouds pass by.
