Five weeks later
"Why is it always so difficult to find a dress that I like and feel comfortable in?" Kirstie sighed, glancing at Louise who was sitting on the chair opposite her, watching Kirstie stare at herself in the mirror.
"I have no idea, maybe you are just being too picky." Louise said thoughtfully.
"Yeah maybe, I just want to find something that I look really good in." Kirstie admitted, sighing as she scanned the rails and picked up another selection of dresses.
"What did you wear to the reunion last year?" Louise said, trying to prompt her into finding a suitable dress.
"Just a simple black dress I think, but it's different this year because I'm taking Ben with me." Kirstie pointed out.
"I want to make sure his eyes stay on me." she added.
"I'm sure he will regardless of what you wear." Louise said.
"I'm kind of sad that I don't get to go." Louise said sadly, feeling slightly left out that she was the only one of the group that didn't get to go to the reunion, since she wasn't part of their university.
"Maybe Matt will take you as his plus one?" Kirstie suggested.
"Apparently he's already taking someone." Louise told her.
"Oooh really?!" Kirstie said, frowning to herself that maybe Matt was secretly seeing someone and hadn't told her.
"I think I've finally nailed it!" Michelle said excitedly as she burst out of the dressing room next door. Michelle smiled to herself as she stood in front of the mirror and twirled around.
"Wow, that looks amazing!" Louise breathed as she stared at Michelle in a knee length flowing red dress.
"Who are you taking Michelle?" Kirstie asked.
"I'm still trying to convince Mark to come with me." Michelle replied. Louise and Kirstie glanced at each other awkwardly.
"Does Kathleen know?" Kirstie frowned.
"Yeah, we've spoken about it and although she doesn't like him, she understands. She knows how I feel about him." Michelle admitted, her cheeks colouring slightly as she stared at the ground. Ever since everything that had happened she still felt on the outside of the group and as a result she'd relied on Mark far more than she'd intended too, causing her feelings for him to intensify.
"This is driving me mad." Kathleen said, appearing beside them, her jaw set in frustration.
"What's wrong?" Louise asked her.
"I just feel so frumpy in everything, I still haven't managed to lose the weight I put on when I was pregnant with Daisy. I don't feel good in any of them." Kathleen explained, sighing in frustration.
"That's not true, you look great, you just need to have more confidence in yourself." Michelle told her sweetly.
"That's what David keeps saying." Kathleen sighed.
"I'm so happy things are back on track with you and David." Michelle said, wrapping her arms around Kathleen's waist and hugging her tightly.
"Speaking of men, I heard that you have one in your life now Louise?" Kathleen asked, wiggling her eyebrows at her.
"Yeah Peter, he's amazing." Louise said dreamily, her eyes twinkling as she thought about him.
"Unfortunately we don't get to see each other as often as we'd like because of our hectic schedules, but I got to spend Christmas with him which was amazing." Louise told them.
