Chloe glanced at Amy, shooting her a small smile as she threw herself onto the sofa beside her. Amy watched Chloe closely as she placed her hand on her bump and gently massaged it.
"Is she moving again?" Amy asked, her eyes glazing over as she stared, transfixed at Chloe's bump, still not quite able to believe that Chloe was going to be a mother.
"She fidgets quite a lot lately." Chloe said, smiling proudly at her bump.
"Is it sore when she moves?" Amy asked, completely mesmerized.
"A little, but I quite like it, because it means that she is okay." Chloe replied.
"Are you scared of becoming a mother?" Amy asked.
"Since she wasn't exactly planned was she?" Amy prompted, before Chloe had a chance to respond.
"No she wasn't." Chloe said quietly, sighing deeply to herself. She couldn't quite bring herself to admit how afraid she was at the thought of giving birth to her baby and becoming a mother.
"I just hope that I can do a good job for her." Chloe whispered, her eyes brimming with tears.
"I think you'll be a great Mum." Amy smiled at her, reaching over to squeeze her hand in reassurance.
"Your Mum was incredible, so you've had a good role model." she continued.
"I know." Chloe whispered, swallowing the lump that was rising in her throat at the thought of her mother.
"And Lee will be a good Dad." Amy prompted. Chloe nodded slowly, her body language stiffening at the mention of Lee's name.
"What's wrong?" Amy asked, instantly noticing the change in Chloe's body language.
"Nothing." Chloe said quietly.
"Oh c'mon Chloe." Amy insisted.
"We had a big argument last night." Chloe sighed.
"About what?" Amy asked.
"I've just been feeling different lately and I don't know why." Chloe admitted, rolling her eyes at Amy when she raised her eyebrow questioningly.
"Normally when he touches me, it's electric, I can't even explain it, but it's not like that anymore. I don't feel anything." Chloe said quietly, her stomach churning as she finally admitted her feelings to someone.
"And he wanted sex last night...." Chloe started, trailing off when her cheeks coloured, surprising herself that she was able to talk about this subject with someone.
"And you didn't enjoy it?" Amy prompted, her heart breaking a little when she noticed the deep sadness on Chloe's pretty features.
"I didn't sleep with him." Chloe told her, glancing up at Amy when she fell silent.
"Surely this can't just be because of that comment he made?" Amy muttered, frowning when she remembered the time that she'd spent with Chloe and Lee in Nottingham and how clear it was that they couldn't take their hands off each other. The constant longing looks between them that showed how desperately they longed to be in each other's presence.
"I don't know, I feel weird." Chloe whispered, quickly wiping away the tears that were spilling out of her eyes.
"I keep thinking that maybe I'm falling out of love with him." she continued, sighing sadly to herself.
"I don't think that's the case." Amy sighed.
"I know you don't want to hear this, but lack of interest in sex is also a symptom of prenatal depression." she added tentatively, not entirely sure how Chloe was going to react.
