Chloe slowly opened her eyes, gently rubbing the sleep out them as she slowly sat up. She sighed deeply as she felt another wave of nausea slowly washing over her. She quickly stood up and hurried into the bathroom. She cursed under her breath as she rummaged in the medication drawer, frantically trying to find her anti-sickness medication before she started vomiting.
"What are you looking for?" Lee asked from behind her. Chloe jumped, a small squeak of fear escaping her lips.
"Don't sneak up on me!" she exclaimed.
"I wasn't, I just came in to shower." he replied quietly, frowning slightly when he heard her harsh tone.
"Where are the damn anti-sickness tablets?!" Chloe said angrily, rummaging through the boxes of medication. Lee watched as she angrily flung a box of tablets into the drawer and slammed it shut, finally giving up on the search.
"I don't know where you left them." he said sadly, feeling slightly helpless as he watched her quickly sit in front of the toilet and vomit into it.
"It's too bloody late now anyway." she coughed, when she finally stopped vomiting.
Chloe flinched slightly as she felt Lee gently gather her hair in his hand, holding it out of the way.
"Do you have a hair band?" he asked her. Chloe shook her head slowly, clutching her abdomen as she vomited again.
"Don't cry Chlo." he said sadly when he noticed the tears slowly rolling down Chloe's cheeks.
"I'm fine, just have your shower." she said quickly, slowly standing up and flushing the toilet. Lee opened his mouth to respond, but quickly closed it again. He watched her closely, frowning in confusion as she quickly brushed her teeth and walked out of the bathroom. Despite the fact that he knew that she was stressed about their situation, he couldn't understand why she was suddenly being so distant with him. He couldn't think of anything that he had done to upset her. Lee sighed to himself as he climbed into the shower, gently pressing his head against the wall as the hot water trickled down his back. He knew in his heart that he had to find a way to get Chloe to open up to him, rather than pushing him away and shutting him out of her feelings, but he had no idea how to do that. He couldn't help but wish that she was as excited about the prospect of becoming a parent as he was. Even though he knew that she was struggling to come to terms with it, he couldn't help but feel disappointed at her reaction. As soon as Lee climbed out of the shower, he quickly wrapped a towel around his waist and walked into the bedroom, frowning to himself when he noticed that Chloe was snuggled up in bed.
"Are you alright Chlo?" he asked softly, squatting down in front of her.
"I'm fine." she said quickly.
"Please don't start fussing me all the time again." she quickly added. Lee nodded slowly and quickly stood up, his heart sinking slightly as he watched her closely.
"I'm just worried about you." he said sadly.
"Well, I'm fine. I just need a day in bed." she said shortly. Chloe sighed, closing her eyes tightly as she felt Lee watching her closely. Despite the fact that she felt guilty for being so short with him, she knew that she needed some time to process her feelings without him constantly fussing her. She needed some time to control the butterflies that were swirling around her stomach as she thought about the panic that she was struggling to suppress. As much as she tried to push her fear to the back of her mind she couldn't help keep replaying the events of last time over and over again. It felt like history was going to repeat itself, like her life was on a constant loop. She knew deep down that if she lost their baby again, then Lee would undoubtedly blame her, in the same way that he did before. Chloe frowned to herself as she heard Lee sigh deeply and felt him climb back into bed beside her.
