Chloe let out a small squeal of excitement when she opened the front door and laid eyes on Danny. He laughed when she quickly flung herself into his arms and held him tightly.
"It's been too long." she whispered in his ear, her eyes filling with tears when she realised that once again she'd forgotten to keep in contact with Danny.
"I know, I've missed you." he told her, smiling at her when she eventually let go of him.
"What are you doing here?" Chloe asked as she gestured for him to come in.
"Lee invited me over, apparently he wants to talk to me about something." he replied, quickly following Chloe into the kitchen.
"Indeed I do." Lee smiled at the two of them when they walked into the kitchen.
"Is it something to do with the song I wrote?" Danny asked quickly, still slightly confused as to why Lee had called him out of the blue and invited him over.
"What happened with the song in the end?" Chloe piped up, before Lee had a chance to respond.
"Matt managed to sort out your idea of paying me in advance for the song." Danny told her.
"It's on the album." Lee agreed.
"Did you get a fair price?" Chloe asked.
"Yeah I got a really good payment....so I have a little rented place now." Danny smiled.
"Oh my god." Chloe whispered, quickly pulling him into another hug and squeezing him tightly. Her eyes filled with tears of happiness at the thought that Danny was no longer sleeping rough.
"I'll never be able to thank the two of you enough for everything that you did for me." Danny said, his voice breaking slightly as he glanced between Chloe and Lee.
"We didn't do that much." Chloe said shyly, her cheeks colouring slightly.
"Anyway, what did you want to ask me?" Danny asked Lee, when he couldn't stand not knowing any longer.
"I need a favour." Lee said.
"You probably heard about everything that happened to Chloe with the media?" he added. Danny nodded slowly.
"I was actually approached by a journalist." Danny said quietly.
"Really?" Chloe frowned.
"Yeah, it must have been when they found out about you being homeless, a journalist came to the park and was asking for a statement from anyone that knew you." Danny explained.
"Obviously I refused." he added. Chloe nodded slowly, her eyes filling with tears as she was reminded once again of everything that the media and the fans had put her through.
"Thank you." she whispered softly, smiling at Danny when she realised how much of a true friend he was to her. Despite the fact that he was the one friend of hers that desperately needed money, he still hadn't been able to bring himself to betray her trust.
"Anyway I have a plan for the media and fans. I want to make them love Chloe, so I was wondering if you would be prepared to do an article to say about how kind she is and how she helped you to get off the streets?" Lee asked.
"And maybe you could mention that she used to bring you food parcels and stuff." he quickly added. Chloe turned to face Lee, smiling at him when the two of them locked eyes.
"It's the least I can do." Danny said quickly, smiling at Chloe when he noticed her staring at Lee lovingly.
"Thanks, I really appreciate it." Lee said, reluctantly tearing his eyes away from Chloe.
