Chloe glanced up at Danny, smiling at him as he gazed down at her as they waited for someone to answer Lee's front door. Danny shot Kirstie a small smile as she opened the door, breathing a sigh of relief when she noticed Chloe safely in his arms. He quickly stepped into the house and walked into the living room, carefully placing Chloe onto the sofa. As soon as she was on the sofa, Chloe curled into a ball, desperately trying to keep warm. She glanced up at Louise as she perched beside her on the sofa, gazing down at her in concern when she noticed Chloe shaking uncontrollably.
"Where have you been Chloe?" Louise asked, gently pulling the throw over Chloe's frame. She remained silent, pulling her arms over her chest and blowing onto her hands.
"I'll give Lee a call." Kirstie announced, quickly leaving the room.
"You look freezing Chloe." Louise said sympathetically, her heart breaking a little for her best friend as she watched her whole body trembling. Chloe nodded slowly, her teeth chattering. The two of them jumped as the front door quickly opened.
"Any news?!" Duncan called as he stepped over the threshold. Louise opened her mouth to answer, quickly closing it again when Duncan walked into the room, his gaze flickering to Chloe who was still curled up on the sofa.
"Danny brought her back a few minutes ago." Louise told him, smiling at Danny as she glanced at him and saw that he was lighting the fire to try and warm Chloe.
"I'll make you a hot water bottle." Louise stated, quickly standing up and leaving the room. Chloe glanced up at Duncan as he sat beside her on the sofa, his brow furrowing in concern as he watched her closely.
"What happened Chlo Bo?" he whispered softly.
"I don't know." she whispered back, her teeth still chattering.
"Come here." he said quietly, slowly opening his arm to her and watching her closely as she shuffled over to him and curled up in his arms, desperately seeking some warmth. Duncan gasped when he felt Chloe's hands against him and he suddenly realised how cold she was.
"I'm so cold." she whispered, her whole body trembling against him. Duncan sighed deeply, quickly grasping the throw and pulling it over the two of them.
"What were you doing out in the cold?" he asked softly, his heart breaking a little when he noticed her eyes filling with tears.
"I don't know, I don't remember." she admitted, still not entirely sure how she had ended up at the park.
"I don't feel right." she continued, closing her eyes tightly as she tried to stop the room from spinning.
"What are you talking about?" he asked, his brow furrowing in concern.
"You were pretty out of it when I found you." Danny piped up, from his position on the floor. The three of them jumped as the front door opened, banging against the wall loudly. Chloe glanced at Duncan nervously as she heard the front door slam closed. Her stomach churned as Lee walked into the room, his intense gaze fixed on her, his jaw set in anger. Lee placed his hands on the back of the sofa, taking deep breaths to try and control the anger that he was feeling. As soon as Kirstie had called, he'd felt an intense wave of relief that Chloe was safe, but that was soon replaced with anger. He couldn't help but feel a deep sense of frustration, that she'd wandered off in the dark, without telling anyone where she was going, putting both her and their baby at risk of harm.
"Where the hell have you been?!" he hissed, when he could no longer control his temper.
"I just went for a walk to clear my head." Chloe said quietly, not quite able to bring herself to look him in the eye. Despite the fact that she was still angry with him for humiliating her in front of her friends, she knew that her actions were wrong. Even though she'd only intended to go for a short walk along the street, she'd somehow ended up at the park. Her eyes filled with tears as she thought about the baby she was carrying and how she would never forgive herself for accidentally endangering her daughter.
