Duncan sighed sadly to himself as he climbed into his car, quickly making his way to Lee's house. His brain was swirling with a mist of his thoughts as he tried to figure out what could possibly have happened for Chloe to be so upset that she would call him in the early hours of the morning. He knew how independent she was, and how much she hated to feel like a burden to people, so he couldn't help but think that it was something bad. That she felt so alone and powerless, that she didn't know where else to turn.

As soon as he pulled into Lee's driveway, he quickly switched off the ignition and hurried into the house, still not quite able to escape the fear that Chloe might have done something to hurt herself, despite the fact that she said she hadn't. He quickly opened Lee's front door and removed his shoes in the hallway, sighing to himself as he heard the sounds of Lee and Steph talking to each other, their voices gradually getting closer to him. Duncan frowned to himself as he heard them place a cup onto the kitchen counter.

"I keep telling you how cute you are." Steph beamed at Lee, bursting out laughing when his cheeks coloured.

"Like that time a few years ago when the fans were waiting outside to see you and it was freezing cold so you brought them a hot chocolate to warm them up." she continued, smiling proudly at Lee.

"I think you made the fans day." she added.

"I only did what anyone else would have done." he smiled at her.

"A lot of people wouldn't." she insisted. Duncan sighed as Lee walked past the doorway and locked eyes with him, frowning in confusion.

"I thought you went home?" Lee frowned.

"Apparently not." Duncan said shortly.

"Oh hi Duncan." Steph said sweetly, quickly standing beside Lee. Duncan shook his head slowly, his temper slowly simmering.

"I am so sick of hearing about your trips down memory lane and so are the rest of us." Duncan said shortly.

"It's actually ridiculous." he added.

"What's your problem?" Lee snapped defensively.

"Maybe it's his time of the month or something." Steph said, giggling quietly to herself.

"Or maybe you've out stayed your welcome." Duncan snapped. Steph rolled her eyes at him, a small smirk playing on the corner of her lips as she maintained eye contact with him, staring him down. Duncan shook his head slowly, quickly turning his back on them and hurrying upstairs.

Chloe's eyes flickered up as the bedroom door opened and Duncan strode into the room, hurrying over to her as soon as he noticed her curled up on the bed. She carefully sat up and swung her legs over the bed, gazing down at her feet, still not entirely sure how to process what had happened.

"What's going on Chlo Bo?" he asked, quickly squatting down in front of her and taking her hands in his when he noticed that she was shaking. Chloe shook her head slowly, not quite able to bring herself to say the words aloud.

"Chloe?" he tried, softly wiping away her tears with his thumb.

"I saw them...." she started, trailing off when her voice began to break.

"Saw what?" he prompted her, his stomach churning nervously.

"They kissed." she muttered, angrily wiping away the tears that were flowing down her cheeks.

"I'm such an idiot Duncan." she added thoughtfully.

"You haven't done anything wrong." he said through gritted teeth, trying to control the intense anger that was swirling in his stomach.
