Monday morning went by like usual, Mino literally yelling at Irene and I to get up every two seconds, as unlike him and Yeri, we weren't morning people, especially on Monday's.
It was once I parked and we pilled out of the car that Mino stood at the boot of the car, holding two travel mugs, filled with coffee. Ever since I started driving, Mino would use coffee as a reward. If Irene and I were late getting up, and didn't have time to get our morning caffeine, Mino would make it and put it in travel mugs, only allowing us to take them if we arrived at school on time.
He was standing there smiling ear to ear at us as we literally dragged ourselves out of the car.
"I hate you." I tell him, going to take my mug, only to have him hold it above his head, out of my reach. Damn him being a giant.
"I'm not in the mood, Mino! Give me my damn coffee!" Irene glares at him from where she is standing beside me, with her hand out parallel to mine.
"Ok, so here is the thing.... What if I told you that we ran out of coffee?" He asks, taking a step back from us.
Irene and I take a step towards him, still with our hands outstretched.
"I'd tell you that you better be joking!" Irene growls at him, causing him to take another step back with us following.
"What's in the cup, Mino?" I ask.
"Tea." Is the response I get, making Irene and I grab the cups from his arms, which he brought down to our level. We smelled them before going back to glaring at him.
"I told you they would kill you." Yeri tells him from my other side. I spin around to her.
"You knew!" I accuse her. Behind her I can see Jisoo and Lisa, leaning against the hood of Jisoo's car, like they always do in the morning. Lisa is telling her something, gesturing with her hands; even from here I could tell she was annoyed about something.
"Well... yeah... but Mino said not to say anything else or we would be late!" She says, pointing at Mino trying to get my glare away from her. It worked.
"You mean to tell me you didn't think of telling us there was no coffee in the house when we left so we could make a two minute stop in town to get a coffee, because you didn't want to be late for school?" I hear my voice rising.
"Well... I was going to tell you... but I have a test that I can't be late for." He says timidly, before we all hear the bell ring.
"I need coffee!" I hear Irene scream, causing heads of people around us to look in our direction. From the corner of my eyes, I see that Jisoo and Lisa have moved from her car and start their way towards the school, also looking over when they hear Irene scream.
"Come on, Irene, we will go to Joe's." I say, pulling on her arm. She doesn't put up any resistance, turning and stomping her way to the passenger seat.
"Come on, Jennie, it's just coffee!" I hear Mino say. I glare at him one more time before going back to the car, pulling open the door.
"How could he think we could function without coffee on a Monday morning?" Irene asks.
"He is an idiot." I tell her, pulling back out of our space, watching Mino and Yeri turn and head towards the school.
We had to drive back into town to get to Joe's, the best coffee shop in town. To be fair, Mino was right if we had stopped to get coffee we would have been late, not because it was out of the way, but because Joe herself was working today, and once she starts talking there is no stopping her. It took fifteen minutes after we ordered to be able to get back to the car.
