Irene was super excited about going shopping after school. Every time I walked past her in school she smiled, the biggest smile I have ever seen. Even at lunch she came over and sat with my friends and I, telling them what type of dress she was thinking.
I knew she was excited, but she also told me, while we were walking to lunch, that she had embarrassed herself in front of Seulgi. I knew that was the real reason she sat with me today so she didn't have to face Seulgi at her normal table.
"I'm serious, I can't wait. Mum said she was taking us to the fancy place in town. She didn't even take us there last time." Irene was saying in my ear as we were sitting on the bonnet of my car, waiting on Yeri to come out.
"We obviously have to make a good impression on Saturday." I say distractedly. I was watching Jisoo and Lisa come out of the front doors of the school. We hadn't meet up since Monday at the bleachers. I wouldn't say we have been avoiding each other, as we have been yelling at each other every chance we get, but neither of us is making the first move to text the other.
Last night, while Mino, Irene, Yeri and I were sitting at the kitchen table, doing our homework, I looked up to see Jisoo coming out of her house and getting into her car. I nearly texted her then and there, but didn't.
"It's obviously a very big client. Dad mentioned that Mr Kim was going to be there. Apparently, the client hasn't decided who he wants to represent him yet, so is trying to keep friendly with a few firms until he makes his decision." Irene says, lying back on the car.
"Mr Kim?" I ask, turning towards her.
"Yeah, dad says he refuses to loose this client to him."
I turn back to the school, seeing Yeri walking with her friends behind Jisoo. When she sees me she waves, breaking away from her friends and starting in our direction.
"Jisoo is staring," Irene tells me, "Literally right over here. What is her problem?" She asks sounding annoyed. I move my gaze from Yeri to Jisoo, a few feet in front of her. Irene was right. She is staring, not glaring, simply staring. They are getting closer now and I can meet her eyes for a second before breaking it when Yeri shouts over to us.
"Hey, sorry I'm late." She shouts, jogging past Jisoo, over to us. I jump down from the hood, followed by Irene.
"No problem, we should get going though." I say, moving to the driver's door.
"Girls there you are," Mum says, meeting us at the door of the dress shop twenty minutes later.
"Sorry we are late." I mumble, my mind still on Jisoo. We all walk into the shop, my nose filling with the smell of perfume. Irene, Yeri and I instantly go in separate directions.
"This is amazing," I hear Yeri say, a few rails away from me. I turn to her and laugh as I see her face light up while looking at a floor length deep purple dress.
"You should try it on." I urge. She turns and smiles shyly.
"Can I help you ladies with anything?" The sales lady asks ten minutes later, as I am coming out of the dressing room, wearing a floor length black dress.
"Oh, yes, Yeri here needs some shoes to go with her dress." Mum says, indicating to Yeri, who was standing in front of the mirror in the purple dress she first saw when she came in. The lady motions for her to follow, and both walk out of the grand changing area.
"Mum, I don't like this one." I say, turning and looking at my back in the mirror.
"No I don't like it either, it's far too plain." She tells me, handing me another dress to try. I simply sigh taking it, getting fed up. It's as soon as I get the dress off that I hear my phone ring. Rummaging around in my bag, I pull my phone out, seeing it's my aunt phoning.
