It was Friday morning and I was in study period. There had been a poll a few years ago about having music play in study rooms, and it was decided that there would be two studies going on at the same time, one room with the music channel playing and the other being silent study.
Rosé, Doyeon, Chahee and myself were sitting in the room where the music was playing, trying to finish essays that had been assigned.
"I can't look at this any longer." Chahee says, pushing her laptop away from her, putting her head in her hands, rubbing her eyes.
I was feeling the same, however, I was currently on my third cup of coffee so I was awake enough to continue on.
"Get some coffee." I suggest, knowing she wouldn't. Last year I persuaded her to try coffee, yet she spat it out refusing to take another sip.
She looks at me through her fingers, glaring at me. Doyeon leans down to her backpack, pulling an energy drink out, sliding it over to Chahee, who takes it and downs it in one go.
"I hate assignments." She mumbles, pulling her laptop back over to her, but doesn't continue her work.
It is five minutes later; I am flicking through my notes trying to find something, when I hear Chahee mumble something. I glance up at her seeing her in the same position she was five minutes ago, watching everyone around her.
"What?" Rosé asks, as we all turn our heads following her gaze to the door, where Jisoo and Lisa and some other friends are. They are walking towards the only empty table, the one slightly to the left of the one we are currently at.
I watch them as they all sit down, each taking out different books or laptops, to do work.
I turn back to my essay, before Jisoo saw me staring at her. I was still annoyed at her from yesterday. I go to take a sip out of my coffee mug to find it empty.
"All done?" Rosé asks, noticing the sad look on my face.
"Yeah, I'm getting another one. Anyone want anything?" I ask, pushing my chair back, starting to stand. They all shake their heads before I walk over to the coffee machine in the corner of the room. Just as I place my mug in place and put my money in, I hear a sound beside me. Looking over I see Hanbin, causing my to internally sigh. Chahee used to go out with him until last year, when he tried to hit on me.
"Hey, Jennie." He says, stepping closer.
"Hanbin" I reply, hoping he would go away. I look over my shoulder to see that Chahee hadn't noticed us, however from here I had a perfect view of the whole room, so I could easily see Jisoo looking at me. I turn back to the coffee machine, willing it to fill my cup quicker.
"So, how have you been?" He asks, playing with a pack of sugar.
"Fine."
"Good. You going to the game tomorrow?" He persists, trying to get me to have a conversation with him. I take a small step away from him, watching the last bit of coffee come out of the machine.
"Yeah, I am." I grab my cup, turning and walking back to our table, where I see Doyeon, Chahee and Rosé watching me. I glance back at Hanbin, who was watching me walk away, before turning back to my friends.
"What did he want?" Chahee asks, trying to sound casual, yet not.
"Oh, you know." I say, looking at my laptop screen, hoping not to have to talk about this. Last year she was heartbroken when I told her about Hanbin and I know that she never really got over it.
Just as I am taking another sip of coffee, I see my phone light up with a text.
Good Kisser: What did Hanbin want?
