When you least expect it (Jensoo convert G!P)

Chapter 34

Irene disappeared as soon as we get home and doesn't show up again until after Mino gets home from practice. I notice her walking through the door with a satisfied smile.

"Where have you been?" I ask her, as she walks into the kitchen where Yeri, Mino, Seulgi and I were. We all glance over at her, watching as she goes to the fridge to get a drink.

"Nothing. Went for a walk." She says, closing the fridge and jumping up onto the counter beside me. I watch her for a second, seeing the lies on her face yet not mentioning it.

"A walk?" Mino asks, laughing at the lie, obviously not believing her either. She is saved, however, when mum walks into the room.

"Just agreed with your dad that we are getting pizza tonight. What does everyone want?" She says, looking around at us all, noting down the orders before picking up the phone and placing the order.

For the next half an hour we all sit talking and laughing. I look around at my siblings and Seulgi, thinking how lucky I was to have them all.

Once we hear the doorbell ring, I hear dad's office door open before hearing him open the front door. Irene and I jump down from the counter, expecting dad to bring the pizza in.

"Jennie? It's for you." I hear dad call, making me look around everyone in the kitchen with a questioning look. I walk around everyone and head out of the kitchen, yet pause once I get into the hallway.

There, standing in the doorway, was Jisoo, looking out of place beside my dad. I walk slowly up to them, feeling uncertain.

"Hey," I say, not expecting her to be standing there after ignoring me for two days. She looks from me to my dad then back again before giving a small smile.

"Hey." She replies, sounding as uncomfortable as she looks.

"I'll leave you two alone," Dad says, walking back into his office and closing the door.

"Come in," I tell her, watching her step in before closing the door behind her. I watch her face the whole time, not being able to read what she was thinking, making me hesitant.

"I came to talk." She says, hesitantly. I nod before indicating for her to follow me. I walk up to my room, leaving the door half open.

"Look, Jisoo, I really am sorry for not telling you about my dad knowing, it's just I..." I trail off, sitting down at the end of the bed.

"I know... Irene came to see me today." She says, sitting down beside me. My head snaps up to her the moment the words are out of her mouth. Irene was there? That's where she disappeared to.

"Irene went to see you?" I ask, shocked. She nods, looking down at her hands.

"I'm sorry." She says, looking up at me. I feel myself frown at her, questioning why she was the one apologizing.

"Why? You already apologised for Soojoo. I'm the one who should be apologising." I tell her, earnestly.

"She told me why you didn't tell me. She said you didn't because you were scared I was going to get freaked out and walk away. I realised the moment she told me, that that is what I did. I walked away." She says, looking down at her lap.

"Jisoo, she shouldn't have got involved," I say, feeling my cheeks redden, not knowing what else she told her.

"No. I... I'm glad she told me. Look, I get it. I do. But Jennie, I am not going anywhere. I realise neither of us have been entirely honest, with each other and others. But, your dad finding out, it..." She trails off, running a hand through her hair, getting it to stick up slightly.
