"How did she actually convince me to go through this?" I ask, looking at my reflection in the mirror. I am wearing a professional looking dark purple dress with black heels. It is the same outfit I have worn to one of my dad's last work dinners.

"I think we both know the answer to that." Irene teases, giving me a suggestive look in the reflection of the mirror, making me roll my eyes.

"Do I look ok?" I ask, spinning around and pulling my hair over my shoulders.

"You look amazing. She won't be able to keep her hands to herself tonight." Irene responds.

"That isn't my aim. I'm trying to make a good impression." I tell her, going back to looking at my reflection, pulling the skirt of the dress down slightly.

"Jennie, if this doesn't work, it's ok. You can't expect them to just suddenly be ok with you two dating after all these years of hatred." Yeri pipes in from where she is sitting on my bed.

"Dad was able to." I respond, giving myself one more glance before grabbing my bag.

"Yes, but dad and Mr Kim are two very different people," Yeri responds. I nod once, knowing I was about to have one of the most awkward nights of my life.

"Jennie? Jisoo's here!" Mino shouts up the stairs. I take a deep breath before heading out of my room, Irene and Yeri trailing behind.

At the top of the stairs, I hear Jisoo and Mino talking about the practice they had today. The sound of her voice dulling the nerves in my head.

I start walking down the stairs, seeing them both standing just inside the door. Mino looks up when he sees us, making Jisoo look over her shoulder before fulling turning towards me.

I take in her cutout buttoned blazer, making me smile down at her. She watches me descend the stairs, a small smile playing on her lips.

Once my foot hits the ground, she gives me a big smile.

"Hey," I say softly, feeling the usual tingles go through my body as I place my hand in her offering one.

"Hey, you ready to go?" She asks, squeezing my hand.

"Yeah. Just let me tell my dad." I say, letting go of her hand and walking towards dad's office door, pushing it open and popping my head in. I see him sitting behind his desk, glasses perched on his nose, looking through some papers.

"I'm going now," I tell him, making him look up at me.

"Ok. Don't be late," he tells me, giving a small smile.

"Ok. love you," I say, starting to lean back again.

"Jennie... be careful." He says. I look back at him, seeing the look of worry on his face. It was at that moment I realised how hard it must be for him to let me go tonight. I give a small smile and lean back, closing the door.

"Ok. Let's go." I say, turning back to Jisoo, taking her hand again. After we have said our goodbyes, Jisoo leads me out of the door, down my driveway and over to her car, which was parked in her driveway.

"I thought we were going with your parents?" I ask, confused when she opens the passenger door for me.

"I told them we would meet them there. I thought of limit the amount of time you actually had to be trapped in a small space with them." She tells me, smirking at me. I nod gratefully before slipping into the car. I watch as Jisoo walks around the front of the car and jumps in.

"Are they still watching?" She asks, putting the key in and turning on the engine.

"Who?" I ask, looking at her house, expecting to see someone watching us.
