I finished the school day with a smile on my face, I smiled, and it was genuine. I ate a full meal, and I was happy.

I walked to Snape's classroom to meet Mattheo.

"Someone seems happy today!" He smirked. "Yep, new me. Now shall we begin?" I asked, he winked, "Yes we shall." We flipped open our books and began reading the text on the page. I was starting to understand more of the topics. We spent hours working without a break, words and spells crowded my mind.

"Okay that's enough for today." He smiled. "M-mhm." I yawned. "I'll walk you back to your dorm." He picked up my bag for me and though it over his shoulder.

I laid my head on his shoulder as we walked. "You are really dumb Y/n." He teased, "Oh shut up you know I'm doing good." I punched his arm and he pretended to cry. Finally, we stood in front of my dorm. We embraced in a hug, "See you tomorrow Mikaelson." He whispered into my ear, and walked to his dorm.

I enter my room and see Astoria isn't there, I would think she's with Mattheo but I was just with him...strange. I get ready for bed and lay down. Almost immediately after my eyes shut and I fall sleep.

I wake up the next morning, and I'm not exhausted. I feel good. Even if I knew I wasn't okay, convincing myself made me feel like it.

I put on my uniform and put my hair in a low ponytail. Once I entered the common room I see Astoria on Draco's lap, and Mattheo looking glum. I walk over to him and whisper, "What's wrong?" "They're dating. After all those nights Astoria and I spent together, she leaves me for him." He's holding back tears.

I pull him into a hug, that's where Astoria was last night. "Don't let this get you down, it's her problem if she doesn't want you. I couldn't imagine picking Malfoy over you." I looked straight in his eyes and he smirked.

Honestly I'm surprised I wasn't upset. Draco and I kissed, but then he denied his feelings for me, and we got into a fight, then we were friends again- oh forget it I don't care. Boys are too much work.

"Come on, let's go to breakfast." I grab his hand and lead him to the Great Hall. "Thanks Y/n...for this." He said quietly. "Of course, everyone was there for me while I grieved. It's the least I could do."

We sat next to each other once arriving at the Slytherin table. As I ate my waffles he stared at me, "What?" I smiled. "Just relieving to see you eating." Both our cheeks were layered with blush, but it quickly faded as Astoria and Draco sat down, Blaise trailing behind.

"Morning!" Astoria said cheerfully, Draco snaking his arm around her waist. "Morning." I said back, I wasn't mad at her. "Why so glum Mattheo?" Draco smirked, I knew what he was trying to do. "Shove off Malfoy." I said, defending the upset boy next to me. "Why Mikaelson? I'm just trying to be nice." He winked. I rolled my eyes and stood up, motioning for Mattheo to join me.

I grabbed his hand and walked him out of there. "I'm so sorry Mattheo, Malfoy's such a prick." He faked a smile, "It's okay." I hugged him again, then led him to Potions. Unfortunately Snape wouldn't let us sit together, so I had to sit next to Malfoy.
