Chapter 3 - Pomegrante

I woke up to a loud crash echoing in the room, I jumped up and stood my guard only to find Ymir leaning on the doorframe "Sorry I woke you, had to piss" I sighed and sat back down and checked the time, I had 3 hours until class to kill, it usually takes me an hour to get ready with doing my hair and makeup so i technically have only 2 hours to do anything, going back to sleep was no use, I wanna keep an eye on Ymir in case she falls over.
I sighed and pulled out my makeup and got myself dressed and ready, adding a bit more makeup than usual today, for some reason I wanted to look nice for my first class with Erwin. I put on my black docs and looked at Ymir, watching her glance at me up and down "those are your nice boots, who you trying to impress" Ymir smirked and leant back in her bed, I rolled my eyes and picked up my bag, would be a weird response if I said that I was trying to impress my new hot professor and I don't really fancy Ymir taking the piss out of me this early in the morning. "I'm gonna go out and get breakfast, be careful" I waved to Ymir before walking out of the dorm and out of the building.

I walked towards a cafe close to campus and held my bag close to myself as I walked into the cafe, I ordered myself a ruby hot chocolate and a grilled ham and cheese. I sat down at a booth and stuck my headphones in as I drank my hot chocolate and took some extra notes before class, I ate my sandwich and finished off some notes before feeling a warm hand on my shoulder. "Didn't think I'd see you here" I turned around and saw Armin smiling brightly, I smiled softly and paused my music, Armin majored in English Literature and Poetry so a lot of his time was spent in cafe's writing poetry about the sentimentality of life. Armin came from Shiganshina High with Mikasa and Eren, Mikasa majoring in music and Eren majoring in history with me. "Ymir woke me up early so I decided on trying this place out, you keep on talking about how good it is here" I smiled and moved my bag so Armin could sit down, Armin radiated warmth and comfort, sometimes even seeing a halo around his head as he was so angelic "Heard you got a new history teacher, news is that he likes poetry!" I felt comfortable telling Armin that I spoke to the professor a couple of times, Armin wasn't the type of person to spread rumours and that would keep your secrets kept hidden away, "yeah he's really cool, i met him on the first day actually at the library, he looks super young aswell, not an old bloke this time" I chuckled and took a sip of my drink as it was becoming cold, I turned up my nose a bit at the flavour now becoming gritty and slightly bitter now cold. "Hold up you've spoken to him? What is he like??" Armin leant forward resting his face in his hands, his full attention now being on me, I chuckled at the blonde and leant back stretching my arms out "For a Greek mythology teacher he's really passionate about his work, when I told him I spend most of my holidays in Greece we had a massive conversation about the best places to go even mentioning nice cafes and restaurants" explaining our interactions sounded like i was talking about a first date not a professor. Admin's eyes widened glistening as he gasped "he sounds dreamy, I'm picking you up after class and we can go get food together just so I can see him" I chuckled and checked the time and got up, figuring I'd order myself another hot chocolate before going to class, Armin packed up my stuff putting it in my bag as i ordered my drink, Armin was so sweet if I had to spend the rest of my life with anyone I'd choose him.

I got to my class and was the first person there as usual, I took my seat in the lecture hall and took out my books and pens to hear footsteps behind me "Someone likes being early" and there he was, Erwin walked down the steps of the lecture hall and to the desk at the front of the room, he was wearing grey plaid trousers with side pockets on each side of his thighs, a white button up shirt with the top two buttons undone and a matching plaid blazer "More time to prepare for class" I smiled and sipped my hot chocolate, my eyes not leaving him once as I admired his attire, his hair was slicked to the side with a slight amount of gel, I could honestly melt just by looking at him. "Staring much (l/n)? Don't be a creep" A tired voice came from behind me, I looked at Eren and rolled my eyes, eren had what we called a mental breakdown during summer and gave himself a tongue peircing and grew his hair out, he constantly had it tied back in a man-bun which shaped his face well but I couldn't help but feel it made him look homeless. "Shut up eren, don't think you of all people should tell me not to be a creep" I raised my eyebrow at him and drank my hot chocolate as he sat behind me, the class filled in and I prepared my books by opening my notebook beginning the new page of notes.
Erwin introduced himself to the class before starting on our new module, he began to talk in depth about the relationship of Persephone and Hades, "the forbidden love that bloomed in the darkest pits, first question; who is Persephone's parents?" Erwin projected images and a presentation curated by him, even the set up of this presentation was immaculate and well prepared. I raised my hand as Erwin nodded and pointed at me "The god of lightning,sky and thunder and also ruler of Mount Olympus ; Zeus and the goddess of harvest and fertility Demeter sir" I spoke clearly trying not to trip over my words in his presence, the tight feeling in my throat was not getting easier to bare. "Tch show off" Eren mumbled, I looked back at him and raised an eyebrow "Not a show off only cause I pay attention, unlike you" I looked at his 'notes' and saw that it was just doodles of penises and random drawings, I huffed and faced the front seeing Erwin looking displeased, definitely shouldn't of spoken out of tone.
I ignored Eren's little comments throughout class and paid all my attention to Erwin, it was weird knowing my professor personally and on a first name basis, I always dreamt of a casual relationship with my professors but this is overwhelming. "(L/n), could you tell me what the pomegranate stands for?" Erwin tried picking me out, testing me. I puffed my chest out and answered confidently, showing that I  know my shit "the pomegranate represents life, regeneration and marriage, by eating the pomegranate seeds, Persephone ties herself to hades referencing back to how Persephone eats 6 seeds, Zeus declares after his judgement that Persephone lives six months of every year in the kingdom of the dead with hades" I looked at Erwin, raising my eyebrow slightly as the corner of his mouth tugged to a small smirk. "Correct" he nodded and gave himself a quick pause before continuing with the class, I crossed my legs over and took more notes.
The class eventually ended and as people quickly filed left the room, Erwin walked up to my desk "You were good answering my questions, was testing to see if you really were up to par with your previous professors notes, he definitely was correct for the most part" The male leant on my desk as his aftershave wafted itself around me, surrounded by his aroma I felt cased into a box with Erwin, I chuckled and smiled "glad to see I met your expectations" the class was now empty and the door was shut now giving us full privacy, Erwin's grasp on my desk tightened as he leant forward to me, a blush spread across my face as the gap between us was still there but was ever so slowly getting smaller "M-Mr.Smith" I stuttered unable to speak without wanting to melt, the bell rang as Erwin pulled away and smiled innocently "Well that's the end of first period, see you later after lunch (l/n)" acting like there was absolutely no tension between us, I scurried to pick up my books and sped up to leave the class, I swung the door open to see Armin practically glued to the door with his ear against it, he looked in and looked directly at Erwin, the boy not realising his volume spoke loudly "Oh yeah he's hot"
