Stolen glances across crowded spaces
I watch you as you sit
And type
Unaware that you are the star in my show
The actor who didn't audition for the role
And I laugh louder when you're close to me
To catch your attention
And make you notice me
Which you do
I avert my eyes when you lookup
To not be accused
Of watching
Staring
Longing
Like the day you caught me trying to take a photo
Did my flushed cheeks betray me,
or did I play it off well?
You don't like photographs so I only have a few
I keep them hidden because I don't want to share you
any more than I already have to
So I'll keep stealing glances
And gushing when I see you doing the same

Invading every thought
PoetryA book of poetry. These are my words, written about love, desire, romance, heartbreak, and all the feelings in between. My thoughts don't have to be spoken to be known. A work in progress.
