Even the way you eat ice cream is alluring
Your eyes sparkle when we talk about getting some
And your normally tense body perks up a bit.
You bite your lip in anticipation
Not knowing how that drives me wild!
It's the same type every time
But it never falls out of your favor
At the shop you act so giddy
Transplanted back to your childhood days
Entertaining even the apathetic teenager who makes our Blizzards
By your genuine love for the cold, sweet, sticky treat.
You close your eyes when you take your first bite
Twisting the pink plastic spoon so that your tongue makes a bed in the indentation
It fits so perfectly
Like the way our tongues do
I know at that moment you think of nothing else but sugary satiation
You are my ice cream.
Sometimes you offer me a bite
And I understand the hidden invitation

Invading every thought
PoetryA book of poetry. These are my words, written about love, desire, romance, heartbreak, and all the feelings in between. My thoughts don't have to be spoken to be known. A work in progress.
