The fireflies twinkle around him
Perching atop his sandy brown hair
Lighting up his life as they light up mine
As he lights up mine
He stands among the fireflies
They glitter in the moonlight
Casting a golden hue
enveloping him like caramel syrup on ice cream
They cast my love upon him
and he can't get enough
Each twinkle radiates like an energy forcefield
sending sparks into his heart
and ignites his desire for me
He reaches out to them
and feels the flutter of their incandescent wings
swishing softly on his nimble fingertips
He closes his eyes and
in that moment
he imagines he's brushing my cheek and caressing my face
fingertips traveling slowly over my eager lips
the flicker of love has taken hold of his heart, too
and we are one.

Invading every thought
ŞiirA book of poetry. These are my words, written about love, desire, romance, heartbreak, and all the feelings in between. My thoughts don't have to be spoken to be known. A work in progress.
