One night, Jesse and I were visiting the Tanners, and we happened to be on the couch watching TV when Danny and Pam approached us. They told us they were invited to a Cultural Arts Soirée, and were very excited about it, and even invited us. For Jesse and myself, however, that sounded pretty dull, so we initially declined. I mean I LOVE art, like royalty paintings, impressionism, and my personal, favorite, Byzantine church iconography, but this was also involving classical music as well as literature.

Jesse and I were totally different people to the Tanners, and was apparent especially in the early years. But we still enjoyed the things we loved before, and that didn't change, including being publicly affectionate with one another, that never changed.

"Aren't you coming to the soirée?" Asked Danny.

"It's not our thing." Said Jesse.

"Wasn't there ever that one book you liked to read in your spare time?" Asked Pam. "Books are very important."

"Reading is boring and a waste of time." I protested to Pam. "Besides, why would you need a book when you've got the television set right in front of you?"

"That's right!" Said Jesse. "There's not much you can get from a book these days that you can't get from the TV faster."

"Because books can educate." Said Pam.

"So can the television." I retorted.

"Look why don't you give the soirée a chance? You might enjoy it." Said Danny.

Jesse and I decided to go, I mean there was no harm in checking it out. As we got dressed, Joey tried to "train" Jesse in that social, high class etiquette stuff.

The venue was at a Victorian home, owned by a high school friend of Danny and Pam. I saw paintings, a lot of them replicas, but nonetheless beautiful.

The lady of the house came up to me, and we had an interesting conversation in the tea room about the paintings before the conversation switched to the exciting world of television over a cup of lavender and rose tea.

"Did you ever watch the Golden Girls?" I asked.

"Can't say that I have. I heard about it though." Said the lady.

"It's such a great show. It's classy, but they also act young for their age sometimes." I explained. "If you need a laugh, they're the ones to watch."

I talked to her about the funniest episodes I'd watched so far, and she was laughing pretty hard when I was talking about them. Funnily enough, she was also asking about the naughtiest moments on the show! As if on queue, Danny and Pam showed up, and they didn't look too pleased.

"Ophelia what are doing?" Said Danny.

"I'm having a very interesting conversation with this lady." I replied, defiantly.

"This girl is a gem! Thank you for bringing her, she livens things up!" Said the lady before turning her attention to me. "By the way, my granddaughter loves your music." And she showed me the birthday present she was going to send her granddaughter, and asked me to sign it, and I happily obliged. We then returned to the main room where there was a crowd around Jesse and another soirée attendee were arm-wrestling.

I watched in suspense before Jesse beat this guy, and I cheered, along with a few others who were rooting for him. Danny and Pam were highly embarrassed. They felt that Jesse and I turned the soirée into a rocker party.

"What have you done to our soirée?!" Yelled Danny.

"What have we done?" Said Jesse.

"You're the ones who invited us!" I protested.

"To show you there's more to life than just rock n roll!" Said Pam.

The Tanners wanted to leave, as they'd had enough, so we said our goodbyes and they took us to their home since our car was there.

"How could you embarrass us like this?" Said Danny. "Look we know that you're not used to high-calibre events, but we didn't expect you to behave like wild teenagers and talk about TV and rock n roll, and arm-wrestle with the guests."

"Hey, he went along with it!" Jesse protested. "We were just having some fun."

"So you're idea of culture is just rock n roll, arm-wrestling, and talking about the crude things you see on TV." Said Pam.

"Hey the Golden Girls aren't crude!" I protested. "It's a classy show, have you even watched it?"

"You talked about the Golden Girls buying condoms, Ophelia." Said Pam.

"And that lady laughed, she thought it was hysterical!" I replied.

"Yes but... I guess you're right." Said Pam. "We were a little... reserved. Like we tend to be. What you bring to a gathering may not be what we have in mind, but you obviously made those people happy."

"We're sorry we went off at you guys." Said Danny. "And thanks for coming, I guess."

After we made up with the Tanners, Jesse and I went upstairs to see our nieces.

Stephanie crawled into my arms and sat on my lap.

"Were you in trouble with mom and dad?" She asked.

"At first." I replied. "But we talked things over and all is much better."

We kissed her and DJ goodnight before putting Michelle to bed.

"How was the party?" She asked.

"It was very interesting." I replied.

"Was there cake?" She asked.

"No, it wasn't that kind of party." I replied.

"Sleep well, sweet heart." Said Jesse, kissing her goodnight. "We love you."

"We love you so much, baby girl!" I told her and I hugged her, before giving her a sweet kiss goodnight. Our sweet little Michelle was growing up before our eyes. She was getting to be a big girl.

When we got home, I felt Jesse's hand on my back.

"I'm actually glad we agreed to go to that thing. Because I got to see you wearing that sexy, backless dress." Jesse flirted, leaning in for a kiss as he hand slid over my derriere.

He carried me over to the bed, and gently pulled my dress down and off my body. I wore nothing underneath it.

"Oh yes baby, I love it when you do that." Said Jesse.

The man lay me down and made love to me until we climaxed in each other's arms, embracing one another as we drifted off.
