Not long after my graduation, Therese and I were thrilled to know that ABBA were coming to America for a concert! When they came to San Francisco, we of course, attended the concert where they performed at the Concord Pavilion.

Therese had come over to stay the night, and she and I got ready together for the concert, feeling so excited! I can still feel the excitement and anticipation as we put on our sparkly dresses and makeup!

"You ready to go, girls?" Asked Theo Galinos as we came out of my room, showing him that we were ready to go. He and Thea Dianthe drove us to the concert.

"See you, girls!" Said Vasilios.

"Bye!" We replied.

"Have fun, girls!" Said Theo Galinos.

We got to meet the girls backstage (this was my 3rd time meeting them, but was still nonetheless thrilling!) After we each hugged the girls, we went to our front VIP seats. Needless to say we danced, and sang and knew every line! The girls even blew us kisses from the stage which was so sweet!

Their live version of "Summer Night City" was so fun to dance to, and then we sweatily danced to their finale of "Hole In Your Soul", and boy was their finish was really something!

I remember how sweaty we were at the end of the concert. It was exhilarating to say the least! My godparents came and collected us afterwards, and my gosh we were exhausted!

"How was the concert girls?" Asked Thea Dianthe.

"It was amazing! Like a dream!" I replied.

"Were there any highlights?" She asked.

"Too many of them!" Said Therese.

When we returned home, Therese and I had not one, but TWO tall glasses of cold water. And we fell asleep the moment our heads hit our pillows.

The following morning, we realized we slept a LONG time! And we were hungry so we went to have breakfast. After we were done, we showed my godparents our autographs the ABBA ladies gave us, and they were overjoyed for us! I immediately went to frame mine, and soon Therese's mother came to pick her up and as they walked to the car, I heard Therese excitedly telling her mother about our ABBA night. I smiled as I felt the same way.

I rested that day, and that evening, Theo Galenos took us all for dinner at Xenos restaurant downtown. The atmosphere was always great at that restaurant. Greek music, decor, art, they had it all!

"Hey doesn't the brunette from ABBA sing one of our famous songs?" Asked Thea Dianthe.

"Frida? She sure does!" I replied excitedly.

"Oh, so that's her name?" Said Thea Dianthe.

"Yes, well it's actually Anni-Frid, but everyone calls her Frida." I explained to her.

"So what's the Greek song that she sings?" Asked Theo Galenos.

"Siko Choprese Sirtaki." I answered. "But she just labels it Syrtaki. Of course, Frida sings it in Swedish, but still it's our song."

"It absolutely is!" Agreed Thea Dianthe.

'Siko Choprese Sirtaki' was originally made famous by the Greek singer Aliki Vougiouklali. She's one of the many Greek singers Vasilios and I listened to, growing up. Aliki sang the song in one of her movies in the 60s, and Frida recorded it for her 1975 solo album "Frida Ensam". I already a huge ABBA fan by then (I became one very quickly), and I received that album in the Summer of 1975 on a trip to Sweden when I was 12. And when I heard the tune of "Syrtaki", sung by the VERY FRIDA FROM ABBA, I can't possibly describe how happy I was! I could've screamed, I was so elated!

It's a shame ABBA never did any concerts in Greece. At least they came to America a few times. I love both Agnetha and Frida very much, and I have ALL their solo stuff as well as stuff by ABBA, (I received Agnetha's LP as well as Frida's on that trip to Sweden) but somehow, I identified with Frida more. Maybe it's because I was a brunette, and I seemed to have similar facial features that she had. That's what people kept telling me, anyway that I looked like her. It was always flattering to hear that, because both of them are two of the most beautiful women ever!

When I met ABBA in 1975, Frida was kind enough to sign my copy of her 'Frida Ensam' album. I was so thrilled that she covered a Greek song, and I told her that. Of course, anyone who knew my name knew I was Greek, but I wanted to express my gratitude anyway.

"You're no doubt the #1 ABBA fan, Olia." Said Vasilios.
