We decided to fly to Thessaloniki before making our way to Paralia because it took shorter to get there from Thessaloniki. We stayed at a beautiful, cosy hotel and the church was right there so we could go to mass every Sunday.
We went to the beach every day, and it was so much fun! The water was clear, the temperature was good, and there were lots of people there, lots of families and couples. Because we were Greek-Americans, and our faces appeared a lot on those Greek teen magazines and stuff, no one bothered us that much, which was a welcome break, what with the publicity our wedding had back in America once word got out.
Vasilios and Terese let everybody know we were married. No one was mad at us, but they were a little sad that they didn't get to share in the joy with us, but they respected our choice. However, there would be plenty of time for celebration upon our return.
We had such fun on our honeymoon, we'd go to the beach, explore ancient ruins, go to dinner at beautiful restaurants, but the best part was at night when we'd make love.
After a week in Paralia, we spent the second week of our honeymoon in Athens. My husband and I were photographed posing in front of the Parthenon while visiting the Acropolis. Just think... our people, thousands of years of civilization. Jesse and I could probably trace our ancestors all the way back to Ancient Greece!
Our hotel had a beautiful view of the Acropolis, and at night when it was lit, it looked golden!
One night, after we made love, I saw my Jesse standing at the window, naked admiring the view. I didn't blame him, it was so beautiful. The golden Acropolis contrasting with the black night sky was an amazing view. Jesse came back to bed, and gently touched my cheek.
He kissed me as I lay back, we made love again, passionately. He caressed my breast as he thrust while kissing me. I orgasmed strongly, grabbing the bedsheets, and as I lay back, relaxing, Jesse gasped, tilting his head back as he came.
He rested his head on my chest as I held him close. I loved how his toned, manly arms wrapped around me felt. We fell asleep waking up to another beautiful day!
We decided to go to a cafe for breakfast that morning. They made the BEST pita bread there, and I'd eaten there ever since I was a kid. But while we were there, we happened to run into my Aunt Orea.
To be clear, we were not mad at each other because she didn't attend my wedding. We greeted each other with big hugs & kisses, surprised to find each other there, not thinking we'd run into her.
Jesse & I invited her to sit with us. She explained why she wasn't able to attend our wedding.
"Agapi mou..." She started. "I came here because my friend from school that I really loved, Thea Evdokia, got very sick, and I don't know how much time she has left. I wanted to see her before she passed." Orea got teary eyed as she explained her situation.
"Why didn't you tell us before?" I asked her.
"I didn't want to put an even bigger damper on your wedding than I already had." Said Orea. "I wanted you to have the time of your life!"
"And we did." I smiled, as Jesse & I took each other by the hand.
"So you're on your honeymoon?" Said Orea.
"Yes." I replied, and we got talking. Later on Orea flew back to San Francisco, and Jesse and I continued enjoying our honeymoon.
We found ourselves visiting sights more than once because we loved them so much. This is a photo of me that Jesse took while I was admiring the Acropolis.
