Chapter 18: Day 1 of the GMGs

Here are the results/standings:

3rd: Fairy Tail Team B
4th: Mermaid Heel
5th: Blue Pegasus
6th: Quatro Cerberus
7th: Lamia Scale
8th: Twilight Ogre
9th: Raven Tail
10th: Fairy Tail Team A

What a bunch of weak wizards. I saw that Fairy Tail came in last. Or at least Team A did. "Fairy Tail came in last and third huh?" I scoffed.

"That's lame. We are stronger than they are. We will show them the true power of Elemental Angels." Rain looked at me unassuring. "Well, Lucia. I'm sure you've seen how strong that Salamander truly is though." I nodded.

"I'm aware of that. Maybe I have seen what his strength is but I also know his weaknesses. So therefore, I am much stronger than him. He is just a weakling to me." I say.

"Here are the teams that represent each guild in this year's GMG's." Mato says. "First, we have Fairy Tail Team A!"

The team contains Natsu, Gray, Erza, Lisanna, and Naiada. Naiada Scarlet. Erza's twin sister uses the same re-quip magic as Erza but she only re-quips into Elemental Scythes and Swords.

No armors. I've heard tales about her abilities.

But I never realized that she'd become apart of Fairy Tail. I roll my eyes. Are they seriously going to put all their faith into those weaklings. They really are pathetic. Those guys don't even look strong.

Maybe Natsu, Erza and Gray but Naiada. I'm not so sure about them though. "Let's not underestimate them. We know that they're strong."

I look down and spot the one and only mercenary guild Southern Wolves, then Raven Tail.

So far, 3 guilds have entered the arena.

After Raven Tail, came Twilight Ogre. The guild that took over Fairy Tail when the Tenrou Island group went missing for 7 years.

"Oi Luce, can I ask you about our engagement?" Sting asks.

"Can you not call me Luce please? It reminds me of Natsu and I don't want to think of him at all."

"Yeah, but can I ask you about our engagement?"

"Oh, I'm sorry I disappointed you. I am just not ready remain together forever. Which reminds me, can we just be friends?"

Sting looks at Lucy with a sad look in his ocean blue eyes.

"Umm, I guess but, does this mean you're breaking up with me?" Lucy nods slowly. With that, Sting quickly runs off without another word.

"STING! WAIT!" Lucy calls out. "What have I done?" she quietly mumbles.

"Leave him be, Lucy, he'll get over it." Rogue says. "I know." I felt so bad for Sting. I didn't know what else to do. So I chose not to. And to think that I still fall for Natsu.

The densest idiot to ever live. I asked Melanie if she can try to go undercover and infiltrate Fairy Tail's plan to defeat us. She nods. "Of course, Lucy! I'd be happy to help you."

Melanie's P.O.V

I can tell that Lucy really wanted to create strategies to be sure that Fairy Tail doesn't win the Games. I'll make sure of that too. I can be competitive when it comes to events in this kind of festival.

Especially events like Pandemonium, and the tag team battles between two guilds.

Sting's P.O.V

How could she? I thought she loved me. But it looks like she still has feelings for that stupid Salamander.

Since I'm going to be fighting one of his comrades on the fourth day, I think I'll tell all of Fairy Tail.

Tears start to run down my face. "I'm going to hurt her. She will feel my pain. But she's already gone through enough but I'll give her a surprise attack if we lose the Games."

I take a deep breath.

"Lucy Heartfilia deserves to know what I truly feel." I realized what I was doing but I know it's the right thing to do. So I, Sting Eucliffe am resigning my participation from the Grand Magic Games and Sabertooth's team.
