Chapter 1: Solo Job

I walk into the guild and people start to glare at me. When Levy, my best friend in the whole world hurls a plate of food at me. It hits me in the face. I fall down and they start to laugh.

"I never realized until now she has been so weak all this time." I looked over and saw Levy laugh hysterically.

"YEAH!! Always hiding behind spirits and letting them do the work while she stands and watches them fight for their lives."

I heard Natsu say. "I don't hide behind my spirits. When I summon them, I use magic energy."

"Urusai, Lucy. We all know that's an understatement, plus, Natsu is always the hero when it comes to trouble."

"Yep and I'm pretty sure that he's getting quite tired of doing it over and over every time you go on jobs." I felt water trickle down my face. They were tears. I stood up and ran upstairs as fast as I could to Master's office.

I barge into his office with tears streaming down my face slamming the door behind me. I was crying hard. So hard that I couldn't stop myself. I thought these guys were my family.

My nakama.

What happened to them? Are they possessed? Master looks up at me then is shocked by the sight.

"Oh my dear child, what in the name of Earthland happened?" He asks, he saw the food gradually drip down my wet, teary face. "Master, all of the members in the guild are abusing me, they called me weak and I wish to leave Fairy Tail." I say.

"If that's really what you want." he replies sadly. I give him my hand and he erases my insignia. "I promise to return and get revenge on the guild when I'm strong enough."

I walk out of his office and hang my head down.

Why has Fairy Tail changed? I ask Master if I can go take one last job then leave. He accepts. "I found some decent jobs on the board so yes, you can find one with a good reward." he says.

He hands me a job request that seems that it may be easy but in my mind. I may need backup but since the guild hates me, I'm on my own.

I nod. "Arigatō!" I smiled at Master. He smiled back. "Will you return soon Lucy?" I nodded. "Yes, but I won't the same Lucy everyone in Fairy Tail would know." Master nods.

"Were there some members who were still nice to you?" I nodded. "Wendy, Romeo, Laxus, Gajeel, Mira, Tamiko, and the exceeds."

"It's good to know that you still have friends here in the guild." I smiled. "Thanks...Gramps." I wave goodbye.

He teleports me to the train station with the flyer in my hands. The request was to kill some demons that are terrorizing a town called Narnia.

I arrive at the train 5 minutes later and board the train. I arrive at the client's place within about 30 minutes maximum. He shakes my hand and asks me for one favor.

"Will you be extra careful, these demons are very experienced in hearing. They can hear you breathe and I want you to try to distract them. Can you do it?" I nodded.

"You can count on me." I reply. I bowed. I head out to find the terrorizing demons.

"Open! Gate of the Maiden! Virgo!"

Virgo and I kill a good 24 of them until one strikes me from behind and stabs his claws through my back.

I scream in writhing agony.
