Duncan's pov.

I woke up exiting my room, I stood right in front of Alicia's door which is across my room planning to knock on it, but she must probably be sleeping tired with all the traveling, I walked to the kitchen to make us breakfast I found a note stuck to the refrigerator, it read.

headed to work early, got a lot of work to do.

With a smiley face drawing, it instantly bought a smile on my face She is the most adorable human I have ever known, she's got this aura, whenever she's around everything feels peaceful, there's this comfort with just her presence around me, this world is a horrible place with, horrible people who hurt you, but Alicia is the only person who wouldn't hurt a person even unknowingly, and that is the kind of person I need, she's filled with so much love in her finding good in everything. I hated coming to this house, with my work, It wasn't that hard,  coming back here, to the house filled with an eerie silence, the loneliness that engulfs you the moment you enter is the worst.  But then the light entered the darkness changing it forever. The stone-bricked walls finally felt like home, a place I look forward every day to get back to, the place I want to make memories with her to cherish when she'll go away when she comes to know about the monster I am, the place that will always remind me that she has been the light my darkness has always longed for, I took a cold shower getting rid of the thoughts of her leaving me, I wear my grey suit and head to DW corp. Mathew walked along with me updating me about my whole schedule for the day and writing down points as I instruct him.  Sitting down on my desk I turned on my laptop getting into my work zone. Mathew walked out. He came back as fast as he went out holding the notepad a little too tight. He cleared his throat, hesitating a bit as he spoke “ Boss we also have a blueprint checking from the built-in company in the evening.., I could do it for you ”

“ no !” I said quickly looking up from the laptop.

“ I will do it myself, get me my cup of coffee, check the barcode companies files, and Alicia's assistant number, and ask her to keep you updated about Alicia,” I said looking at him, he nodded his head in response.

“ ah and that food chain company what is it again....”

“ barks food chain ”.

“ yeah, I want them to be here at sharp ten, with what they go to offer us, even a single minute late, they are out,” I said checking my mails.

Alicia's pov.

I was walking into DW corp wearing an oversized white hoodie, with a lol emoji, and grey sweat pants don't judge me I am always professional when I go to attend meetings but today it was like the whole world is against me, first thing jess's car got punctured, then we misplaced important documents, half the day went in finding them, last-minute knight enterprise Ceo Mr. Kyle Knight and his family were leaving for vacation so he wanted to sign away the files before he leaves and then when we decided jess will go to the knight enterprise, and I will go to DW corp then as we were rushing to go to the meetings, that is when one of my dear employees decided to spill cold coffee all over me and my beloved assistant couldn't find anything else for me to change into except for a hoodie which doesn't even fit me!.

The building is twice bigger than my built-in corp but not that welcoming you know, the building is covered with huge glass panes, all the people working here looked lifeless like they were Robots they worked with so much rhythm, I walked to the receptionist, who looked completely in fashion in her early thirties making me feel conscious, I cleared my throat placing my hands over her desk. She looked at me, her eyes hidden behind the beige glasses, she tucked her blonde hair behind her ears yes she said.
