15. My ice cream

I couldn't sleep at all, I kept tossing and turning in my bed as usual. I have this important meeting tomorrow that would change the whole dynamics of built-in corp. I woke up pacing back and forth trying to calm my anxious mind, more I tried not to think about it the more I got anxious. I got the same feeling I used to get before exams. My mind listing out all the possibilities of me failing miserably. Which I don't think would ever happen in reality like why would they cancel a deal because I eat too many ice creams It doesn't make sense but it's my mind it's work is to make me scared and anxious.  When I was a kid when I would be anxious or scared to my very core,  I would wake up Andrew and he would divert my mind by talking about how he hated Lexi because she is so bossy and all with a cup of ice cream for me to eat and that is when I would finally calm down. I know I got the best brother. I miss him so much wish he was here to calm me down again.

I got up heading to the kitchen to fix myself, a cup of ice cream. I saw Duncan sleeping in his office outfit with his files in his hands over his chest. He looked so peaceful. I walked back to my room to get him a duvet. First I took off his shoes, loosened his tie, took out the papers from his hold, and placed them on the table and then I covered him with my duvet. I sat beside him looking at him, I never observed him this close his long eyelashes that any girl would kill to have. His sharp jawline graced with a slight beard and dimples though he is so strong and manly those dimples make him look so cute that I want to squish his face with my hands. He has this weird aura around him that makes me feel comfortable and protected like I don't have to worry about anything.

That is when I realized, I forgot about my meeting, I was surprised because normally without talking to anyone or without eating ice cream I wouldn't be able to get away from the anxious feeling I get with it but now it had gone just with his presence around me.

I stirred in my sleep, hugging my teddy tightly. I immediately looked down realizing I don't have a teddy. I was sleeping beside Duncan hugging him tightly under one duvet and on a tiny little couch that to together. One part of me wanted to immediately get up, while the other part of me wanted to stay right here with his arms holding me protectively. As my heart and mind kept debating Duncan woke up looking at me he said " good morning baby girl " with a hoarse voice placing a kiss on my head with a huge smile.

" good morning "  I replied, you know I did not want to be mean.

" How did I end up here? "  I asked looking into his charming blue eyes.

" I woke up in the night, to find you sleeping right next to the couch I didn't want you to be cold so I carried you and put you right next to me," he said smiling pulling me more close to him.

"Oh ok thank you," I said trying to hide my blush and stop looking at him.

" How did you end up there? " he asked. Pregnant cow how would I tell him that I was busy admiring his beauty like a creep.

I got up ignoring him, I started heading towards my room "  where are you going, baby girl?"  Duncan asked sitting up confused.

I turned back fidgeting with the hem of my dress I looked at him " you know, ..... Uh, my cat right, it's dead I am huh... Have to attend his, funeral you know so....." I said running up to my room immediately I could hear him chuckle. Seriously, Alicia, your cat died, you don't even have a freaking have a cat bonehead. Jesus Christ, please don't do that again to me.
