33. Physcic abilities.

I rolled in my bed, cussing at my phone, I sat back straight picking up my phone, my eyes shutting immediately due to the bright light. It was around two in the middle of the night I yawned a couple of times. Checking who called, that is when the phone started ringing again. I answered it in a sleepy tone “ yo ” I muttered out rubbing my eyes trying to get rid of the sleep.

“ Alicia... Alicia...” I heard frantic yelling and jess sobbing. I sat up straight my eyes no more drowsy I turned on the light in a panic.

“ jess, jess what happen? what's going on? ” I asked my voice filled with concern.

“ aliciaaaa, please ” she sobbed out loud as if she was in pain.

“ jess, please calm down tell me what's going on ” I muttered in a calm tone now trying not to freak her out.

She yelled loudly, with a loud thud sound the phone got cut. I sat there for a second dread filling my thoughts. I jumped taking my coat, car keys I ran down the stairs.

I stopped when I heard Duncan's voice “ what's wrong baby girl ?” Duncan asked concerned.

“its jess huh she needs me,” I said my voice filled with panic.

“ I am coming with you,” he said running towards his room, he came back a couple of minutes later wearing his coat.

I knew I couldn't debate with him about this and with the sounds that I heard, it would be nice to have him by my side.

Duncan turned on the engine dashing towards the road, we reached there in fifteen minutes with Duncan assuring and comforting me that everything would be fine.

We stopped the car in the driveway, I expected to hear yelling or crashing sounds but there was pin-drop silence. I calmed myself before I entered the house Duncan walked along with me, I held his hand stopping him, he looked towards me “ let me handle this ” I said my mind completely against my decision. But for some reason, I thought I should do this myself.

“ no! I am not letting you go in there by yourself ” Duncan said sternly.

“ Please listen, ... Come on,” I said trying to get my hand out of his hold.

“ baby girl, please don't do this,” he said his eyes filled with concern.

“ I promise I'll be safe, and you'll be right here,” I said trying to make him understand.

“ shit,” he said groaning loudly running his hands frustratedly through his hair.

He walked leaning against the car, I ran in taking that as a cue. My heart thumping as I took every step. The door was open I walked in not minding to knock. The house was a mess of cushions scattered, everywhere, broken glass pieces it felt like something really terrible happened here. My physic abilities rising, I closed my eyes trying to concentrate so that the scattered items could give me a signal helping me to track jess. After a couple of failed attempts, I actually started searching for her.

I found her sitting on the couch her back facing me, I ran towards her my eyes wide open looking at the state she was in, her red hair messed completely, her dress torn in most of the places her lip was cut and bleeding her face had multiple cuts and bruises a tear slipped out of my eye looking at her in such a position.

I took off my coat covering her with it she was so pale and was in a state of shock. She did not realize I was there.

“ jess, jess,” I said shaking her gently getting her out of her trance.

“ Alicia you came,” she said hugging me tightly wincing.

“ hey, your alright?” I asked holding her jaw trying to look at her closely.
