Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream. Scream.
All you can do is scream. And the people around you crumple. Every single person within a two-hundred-yard radius falls to ground in complete and utter agony. Yet you don't even realize it. Because to you, your quirk is nothing but a healing quirk. To you, your incapable of hurting others.
Your quirk: The ability to recreate cells, build the broken or damaged cells to be better, more efficient, and stronger. You can boost up metabolism and stamina. You help people grow. You make them stronger. You give them life. You don't take it away.
And yet, you can. Not only do you have the power to grant life and fix the damaged, you have the ability to strip the healthy down to nothing. You can regenerate cells but you can also destroy cells. Those once healthy cells can become shriveled and cancerous with one thought. All you have to do is picture them breaking. Dying. That's all. The opposite of trying to heal them. It doesn't require as much energy as it does to heal. Destroying cells is easier. Building them is not.
You're too busy screaming out in pain, too busy trying to rid the forming headache, that you don't realize what's going on till Dabi struggles to stand before he tackles you to the ground and slaps a hand over your mouth. He groans, his body heaving with deep breaths as he sweats over you, trembling from the torture.
"Stop it," he rasps out.
Whimpering, you shut your eyes, trying to stop the massive headache that pounds against your skull.
"What," Shigaraki groans, getting on his knees with deep, hearty breaths, "the fuck was that?"
"That was Y/n," Dabi gasps.
"How? She's a healer."
Dabi gets up on his elbows, trapping your head between them, still heaving with breaths as he smirks at you. "Not anymore."
Stain groans beside you, clutching his stomach as he rolls over. "Oh, I really want you on my side now," he says, smiling.
"Fuck off," Dabi says, helping you stand.
When Stain tries to grab your ankle, you squeal and jump into Dabi's arms with as little strength as you've got. He smiles softly, stomping down on Stain's hand before looking to Shigaraki, who nods at Kurogiri to open a warp gate back to the hideout. You curl into Dabi but just as he's about to step into the portal, you flip off Stain while he tries to stand, one hand still wrapped around his waist. He glares at you, making you wince and hide yourself with Dabi's shoulder, your eyes barely open.
Your headache begins to hurt more, especially when Toga starts yelling and Twice joins in. You whimper and cover your ears to muffle the sounds. It's taking all your energy to stay conscious in his arms. After abusing so many people at once, you over used your quirk. Almost as much as the first time you fainted. But this feels worse. Because you didn't help people this time. You used your quirk to hurt people. Even if it was on accident.
"Oi," Dabi says. "Shut up. You're hurting her."
"Sorry," Toga says. "But what happened back there? How did Y/n do that?"
"What I want to know," Shigaraki says, "is why she lied to us about it."
You shake your head, which only makes you wince and whimper again. "I didn't," you whisper.
"She didn't," Dabi repeats.
"She just used her quirk to immobilize all of us! And she couldn't hurt someone on command when I asked her to? It doesn't make sense! She was lying!"
"She didn't know she could hurt people!" Dabi argues back, the yelling only making your headache worse. "Look at her! Does she look like the type to fucking hurt someone on purpose? She's not like us, Shig."
Shigaraki shuts his mouth and instead glowers at Dabi who only does it back. You press your palms to your temples, trying to get the pressuring pain to go away. But nothing is working and the talking in the room only makes it worse. You would like to just lie down and sleep. Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. Sleep.
"Get her to bed," Kurogiri says. "She needs rest."
"Wait," you say, pushing yourself out of Dabi's arms with the little strength you have. He lets you down and you go to each member of the team, with his help holding you up and keeping you steady as you lean against his side, to check for injuries that need healing. Even if you want to be somewhere else, you can't help but want to make sure they're okay. Most of them are but Toga and Dabi had a few cuts and bruises that you healed. But when you could barely hold yourself up and keep the tears in, Dabi told you stop and took you up to your room, even though you insisted on healing his cut. He left you to change in your room, which was proving to be quite difficult as you had to run to the garbage can to throw up a few times. Using your quirk on so many people at once, even if it was unintentional, was deteriorating. And then using it to heal, if only a little, made it worse. So you struggle to get ready.
You change into shorts and one of Dabi's sweatshirts as you crawl into bed and lie down, exhausted from having to work so hard to change. The moment you do, you break down in tears. The thought of hurting innocent people kills you. But you feel so weak. You can barely stand on your own. Your body aches, your head feels like there's immense pressure killing you, and you can't seem to even think straight. You just want to close your eyes. Drift off. Sleep. And never wake up.
"Mouse, I need you to stay awake."
You groan.
"Don't fall asleep on me. I know you want to but I don't think it's best."
"Tired," you mumble.
"Mouse please," he says.
"Dabi," you murmur, reaching out to cup his face and caress his scars with your eyes half closed.
"Hi, Doll," he says softly, his hand covering yours now. "Stay awake for me, okay?"
"I don't feel good," you whisper. You choke on a sob, crumpling before him.
"I know, just don't fall asleep."
"Dabi?"
"Yes, Mouse?"
"I'm sorry," you say, squeezing your eyes shut to keep the tears in.
He reaches forward to run his thumb across your lips. "It's okay. I forgive you. This world hasn't treated you right either."
"No it hasn't," you say, breaking down once again. You let out a strangled sob as you curl up, hugging your waist. This world hasn't treated you right at all. You've been nothing but good, helping others, treating other, and yet this world does nothing but beat you up. Over and over again.
He strokes your hair back, brushing a few tears away in the process. "Then why don't we take revenge, huh?"
"Revenge?" you sniff, peeking at him through half closed eyelids.
"Revenge," he says deadly. "Get your revenge on the world sweetheart."
"Ho—How?" you hiccup.
"I have just the thing."
You nod, closing your eyes. Waiting for him to continue. But he doesn't. It just gets. . . quiet. Deafening. And your eyelids feel so heavy you can't continue to keep them open. The weight on your chest just gets heavier. Heavier. Heavier. Heavier. Heavier. Heavier. Heavier. And then you see stars in the pitch black. No. Fireflies. They're so pretty. You try to reach a hand up to touch them but you feel so heavy. So heavy.
Dabi. When did Dabi get here? You're not lying down anymore. You're standing. He's holding you, dancing, swaying around an empty ballroom. And it feels so nice. He's so gentle with you. He's so sweet. And he looks so handsome in his nice all black suit. And his gold staples. You reach up to touch them and touch his scars.
But he disappears like ash in the wind before you can do anything. And he's missing. And you're alone. Standing in an empty ballroom with nothing but dust in your hands. Dust of what Dabi used to be.
