Touya squeezes your sweating hand, trying to calm you. Just a moment ago, Touya told you that you were about to meet his mom. Now you stand in front of her door, patiently waiting for her to answer after Touya's knock.

You remember his mom from when you were kids. She wasn't always around, mostly kept to herself in the house but when she was, she adored you. She always loved how you made Touya smile and how he would come home after playdates and talk her ear off about you until his father told him to be quiet. You just pray she'll still like you.

It feels like years of waiting for her to answer the door and you keep looking from hallway to hallway, worrying you'll get caught. But Touya said he took care of it. So you just hold his hand tightly and try to stay calm.

The door slowly opens, her grey eyes peeking out. She gasps, opening the door, her jaw hanging open as she stares at her son, disbelieving the sight in front of her.

"T-Touya?" she whispers.

He squeezes your hand and you squeeze back, your other hand resting on his forearm.

"Hi, Ma," he says.

She shakes her head, a finger touching her trembling lips. She rushes to Touya, wrapping her arms around him, so you let go of his hand and step back, smiling at the tender moment. Her eyes tear up and you know Touya's tearing up as well. It makes your heart full.

He's always adored his mom. Late at night, when you'd both be half awake, he would murmur stories about her when he was a kid.

"She was always so gentle," he said.

You smiled, curling closer to him. His fingers were in your hair, gently rubbing your scalp.

"I don't blame her for Shoto's scar. I don't blame her for anything. How can you stay sane when you're married to an abusive hero?" He tensed, his hands moving to your waist to hold you closer to him. "I miss seeing her," he said softly. "But I'm afraid she'd be disappointed in the man I am now."

"I'm sure she misses you," you replied, not knowing what to say to comfort him. You didn't know what his mother was thinking. You didn't know if Endeavor had brainwashed her into believing Touya was bad. But you wanted to comfort him. And from the little things you knew about him, you have to believe she'd miss him. No matter what.

Seeing her hug him tightly, tears covering her face, you know she missed him dearly. To that, you're very grateful. You don't know what you would've done if she slammed the door shut and told him to go. Or if she even had called the cops. It would've torn Touya apart. Completely torn him apart.

"Ah," she suddenly says. "Hurry, come in, come in. I don't want you to get caught."

She brings the two of you in, shutting the door after looking down the hallway to make sure no one was there. Touya grabs your hand, smiling softly down at you before placing a small kiss on your forehead. Slowly, his mother turns around, her gray eyes staring lovingly at her son. The son she thought was dead.

"I saw your broadcast," she says softly, brushing her hands down her shirt as if she was wiping away crumbs.

Touya subtly winces, his grip tightening on your hand. "I don't regret it," he chokes out.

"You shouldn't," she replies simply.

He shakes his head, somehow shocked his mother would agree with him. It shocks you too. He nearly killed Endeavor on live television and humiliated him and yet. . . she proceeds to tell him he shouldn't regret his actions. If she's okay with that, she'll have to like you. Right?
