"Fuck you," you mumble under your breath.
"What did you say?" Endeavor asks, his flames increasing as he turns his head to look at you. You hate his stupid eyes. And his stupid face. And his stupid flames he keeps. God, you hate him.
But you pretend to like him.
You widen your innocent eyes and shake your head. "Nothing," you say sweetly. "I was just talking to myself."
He grunts, eyeing you suspiciously before he decides to look away. "Have you been practicing your quirk?"
"Every day," you reply.
"She's been getting better. Isn't that right, Kid?" Hawks lounges on Endeavors couch in his office, his yellow tinted glasses keeping his hair out of his eyes, his playful smirk aimed at you. Always aimed at you. It's gross.
You stand near Endeavor, listening to him go on and on about how being the number one hero is hard work or that he wishes he could've beaten All Might and not win by default and blah blah blah blah. It's exhausting. Every second you spend with Endeavor, is another second you want to rip his stupid eyes out and strangle him. The more he talks, the more you hate him. But Touya says to be patient. And Touya says to wait. Fuck what Touya says. Endeavor is a dick and you can't stand him. You especially can't stand him now that you know how he's treated his wife, his kids, and how he's treated Touya. Working with him pisses you off and if it weren't for Hawks's stupidity, you might've killed Endeavor by now. But Todoroki and Touya want to do that so you'll wait for their sake.
It's been a month now, and you've decided you hate the heroes. Firstly, they don't really care about you or your well-being. They care about money, making it to the top, and so on. All Might however does care about you, so you can't really hate him. But there are times he takes the heroes side and you have to remember he too is a hero. Same goes for Aizawa.
The good news is that the heroes don't suspect anything when you and Todoroki leave for a few hours. They just think you go with Todoroki to visit his mother or go shopping and they allow it since you can help his quirk and heal him. In fact, you tend to go with the students often because of your quirk. No one seems to care about your safety when you go out with them. It's always the student's safety. Weren't you the one who was kidnapped for months? You barely know how to fight. But your healing trumps that. You would think because of your quirk you'd be more valuable and they'd want to protect you more. At least it doesn't seem like your prioritized by them.
You don't seem to care much, mainly because you get to go back to a base full of villains who love you. At least they care about your safety. After you told Touya about overusing your quirk, to which he was furious for days after, they League checks to make sure you're okay. And you are. Every night, you've done the meditation and yoga Touya taught you. You've grown stronger, both mentally, and a little physically. And Touya says he's so proud of how far you've come.
You nod, smiling over at Hawks. "Mhm. I have."
"Good. Now work harder."
"But—" you try to say but Endeavor cuts you off to finish his thought.
"You can always improve. Don't stop until you surpass the best. And right now, you're nowhere near the best." Ouch. "Start lengthening your training hours. Longer hours mean more practice. Got it?"
You nod, dropping your head and stalking over to Hawks. You plop down on the couch next to him with folded arms and pursed lips. You hate working with Endeavor. It's all about being the best. The number one. The top dog. It's exhausting. Night after night he drills you about working with your quirk, improving it each day. Todoroki hates that he's treating you this way too but there's not much he can do.
Endeavor frowns, not that it's knew for him, while he shuffles through piles of paperwork at his desk. Just to be funny, and to piss him off, you send a burst of pain his way, cramping his leg up. He topples over in an attempt to grab onto his desk and save him. You hold back a laugh and instead rush to his side with Hawks.
"Are you okay? What happened?" you ask, kneeling beside him.
"Stupid cramps!" he yells.
"Maybe you're not drinking enough water. How much do you weight?" Hawks asks, his fingers drumming against his chin. You kneel next to Endeavor, fighting back the urge to laugh. He looks ridiculous. The number one hero, on his ass in pain, gripping his calf because you decided to mess with him. Touya wouldn't be holding back his laughter. He'd be laughing for days. You so have to tell him about this when you see him later this week. The thought makes you smile.
Endeavor shoots him a look. "Why the hell would you need to know that?"
"Well, depending on how much you weigh, you can calculate to figure out how much you should be drinking. So how much do you weigh?" He leans down closer, using his wings to lift him off the ground and smile down at Endeavor.
He just grumbles. "Heal me," he demands.
"Say please," you say.
"Are you serious?"
Crossing your arms, you say matter of factly, "Yes. I only heal people if they ask nicely or are unconscious."
"I'm not saying please."
Hawks laughs. "Oh, come on Endeavor. It's a simple word? Just say please for her." He bats his eyelashes at him with his hands clasped together at his chest.
He mumbles a please, his eyes glaring daggers at the floor.
"What was that? I couldn't hear you."
"Please!"
"There you go!" Hawks cheers. "See, that wasn't so hard."
You heal, grudgingly, but you've got to make him think you're on his side anyway. For the moment, everyone trusts you. Enough so that if they were to find out someone was a traitor, you wouldn't be on the top of the suspect list. Which is a good thing. Since in two months, you plan to betray all of UA and the heroes you've helped along the way.
Part of you hurts for that day. You've made so many of them believe you actually want to be here and help them. You've manipulated them to your benefit and soon you'll have to rip them apart. And yet, the majority of you doesn't care. Because time after time, they've shown you how quickly they would sacrifice you for the world whereas the League, the League will always sacrifice the world for you, and you'd do the same for them. You don't want to be selfish. It's not that you want everyone to worry about you and have all their attention on you, it's just that the heroes don't care as much. Sure, they risk their lives on the daily, but they do it for selfish reason, for impure and disgusting reasons. For money. Fame. To prove they're the best. Just because they can. And they're not nice. Most of them are angry, upset they have to come out and risk their live for others. It's always work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. There's no time to play, no time to hang out and create a connection with the world. It's not about caring for the people they're saving; it's about saving them and getting the fame or the money with it. It's popularity really. And it's fucking disgusting.
And you've decided, your loyalty belongs to the League. Not with the people who call themselves heroes.
Never with the heroes.
