it's over

You're quickly shielded, being carried to the other side of the room where Dabi sets you down, forcing you behind him.

"Fuck," he mutters, clenching his burning fists.

All Mights breaks in, followed by a new pro hero who traps everyone with sort of branches. You squeal, trying to get to Dabi. To anyone really. You don't like the way the branches constrain you, trapping you.

"Dabi," you cry.

"It's okay, Mouse. Take a deep breath."

You nod, taking a deep breath, something Dabi's been trying to teach you in stressful situations. You look over to Shigaraki, who's pissed off that he's trapped and that All Might is here. Bakugou looks. . . guilty. But you try not to read into so much and instead go back to looking at Dabi.

"Remember what we practiced, Mouse?" You nod, knowing exactly what he's talking about. "Good girl. On my signal, alright?" You nod again, your eyes flicking to his hands, waiting for the signal.

"Oh, come on now," Shigaraki says. "You're ruining the fun."

"You filthy villains!" Grand Torino yells.

You watch Dabi's hands as he counts down, waiting for the right time. You wait and you wait and you wait and you wait and you wait and you wait and you wait and you wait and you wait and you—

"Dabi!" you scream as Grand Torino breaks in with his foot outstretched to hit Dabi. You're too late to activate your quirk before he's knocked him out, leaving Dabi limp in the heroes hold. And you stare, shuddering as your source of peace and calm is unconscious.

"Y/n—," Shigaraki starts before you spiral.

But it's too late. You scream, targeting your power to every hero in a two-hundred-yard radius. The heroes in the room fall to the ground, even All Might, in pain, clutching their stomachs. They groan, eyes squeezed shut in agony as you picture their cells eating them alive, as you torture them. And when you feel the branches of his arms start to loosen their grip, you stop, gasping for a breath. Using one more burst of energy, you attack him, and him only, so you can successfully escape his grip and crawl to Dabi.

"Dabi," you whisper. "Wake up. Wake up, please."

"What the hell was that?" Grand Torino says, taking heavy breaths as he stands. You glare at him as you clutch Dabi's shirt with your fists. Instead of attacking the heroes again, you focus on healing Dabi. Trying your hardest to help him wake up. He's not dead. Just knocked out. So, you're praying he'll wake up soon without a concussion. You press your fingers to his temples since physical contact makes healing easier, and send short bursts of energy so he doesn't get a headache from the overwhelming power.

All Might stands up with a smile on his face as he looks at Shigaraki. "You're coming with us."

"No," Shigaraki says, scratching his neck. "We're not."

Just as he says that, the floors open up, with a warp gate, almost like Kurogiri's but completely gray and black. You gasp, clutching Dabi as it wraps around you, crawling on your skin, leaving goosebumps in its path. You refrain from screaming and instead, lay your forehead on Dabi's chest, shaking with fear of what's to come. You feel the air change, the tension in the room shift. Only then do you realize you're elsewhere, the League with you. Shigaraki swears under his breath before stepping forward, walking to the man who hovers in the sky. Fear paralyzes you when you see him.

Shigaraki had mentioned his boss, the man he worked for. All for One. You never met him and had only heard short and simple words from Dabi about him. Yet, sitting on the cold, debris filled ground, you find yourself grateful that you never had to meet him. You think part of it was that Dabi and Shigaraki didn't want you to meet him. Could be because of you shy and fearful outlook on life. Could be that he's not a good person, in fact much worse than the League combined, and they didn't want to scare you more. As Dabi puts it, they need you. You're an asset now. So whether you like it or not, you're staying. But, at least they try to make you want to stay.

"Boss," Shig says. "Thank you—," he starts, but he's cut off.

"Who is she?" he aks, pointing right at you.

You bite your tongue to keep from crying. It's been such a difficult day with high adrenaline and high emotions everywhere. You weren't built for this. Maybe you could've been. Maybe if you're parents hadn't been murdered, leaving you alone before anyone noticed. Maybe then you'd be strong and could actually stand up for yourself. Or maybe. . . maybe you were always meant to be weak.

Because that's all you really are. You're a bother. A nuisance. You're weak. Fucking weak.

Shigaraki goes to say something, but it's too late. That same gray portal is enclosing around you again. You look at Shigaraki for help but he's too busy glaring at All for One. The next thing you know, you're in his arms as he holds you, cocking his head.

"Intriguing," he says, his finger tracing your upper arm as he holds you. Your hands are pressed against your chest as if your heart is about to leap out of fear. You feel your pulse racing, beating in your ear.

Badump. Badump. Badump.

It's driving you mad. Especially as you stare wide-eyed at this. . . this thing that holds you, complimenting your pretty looks.

"I would love to get a hold on your power," he murmurs. "But I think I'll leave that to you. I don't have enough compassion to heal those in need."

You gulp, trembling.

"No need to be so scared, sweetheart." No. God, please no. Let go. Just let go. "I'm not going to hurt you. You seem. . . useful." He says it like he doesn't even know if you're useful. Like he couldn't think of word that described you best and still came off as nice. And the best thing he had was useful.

He chuckles lightly to himself before he lets you go, and you start freefalling down. The air freezing your skin. Shigaraki screams your name, running to you as you fall. Even if you try to scream, you can't. The rush is taking all the air out of your lungs as you wait for the pain to hit. For death to take you. Finally.

But it never does. Instead, you caught in the air and carefully set on the ground. The moment you do, you get up and rush over to Dabi, seeking any sort of comfort, any sort of relief during this time.

Time drags on. And on. And on. And on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on. But in the end, it honestly just went down in a blur. You were too focused on healing Dabi, trying to get him to wake up, and protecting the League from All might and All for One's fight.

You'll never admit this to Shigaraki, let alone Dabi, or really anyone, but when All Might was on his last string of power, barely able to do anything, and just out of pity, out of anger for All for one, you sent him a burst of energy. Not much but enough to give him the strength he needed to win. What shocked you was that All Might looked nothing like he did when he was done. Skin and bones. Not muscles or smiles.

Dabi wakes up a few moments after Kurogiri got you out of there, after Bakugou left with his classmates, taking off before anyone could do anything or stop, and you quickly wrap your arms around him.

In the end, you don't know what happened. Nor do you know if Bakugou would say yes. But you do know that Dabi is alive and safe, and everyone in the League is too. Besides the few members that had been captured.
