they know

You gasp when you reach the bottom of the hill, groaning from the wave of dizziness that hit you after tumbling down the side of the mountain. The vibrations from Muscular's fight become too much and you ended up slipping, before you fell down the hill.

"Ow," you whisper in pain. A few cuts and surely large bruises are going to cover your body. And you can't heal yourself so you're stuck in the awful sense of pain. You sniff, ignoring your tears as you get up and begin walking. Focus. You have to focus. The need you and so far you haven't been there for them. So as you walk, sobbing, you focus on healing them and enhancing their quirks.

You wonder how they're doing. If they've gotten Bakugou yet. If they've been arrested.

This whole mission is freaking you out. You can't decide what you want. Do you want the villains to win? Do you want your new family to win? Or the heroes? The kids who are working to become heroes? You don't know. You can't figure it out. And it's killing you.

A few moments later, you find a building. It's not entirely big but it's seems to be almost like a school of some sort. You don't know. You aren't going to go in there but when you hear a gunshot and a few screams, you freak out and run into the building. They sounded close and the vibrations from the fight aren't any better. Besides, you don't want to get caught. Dabi specifically said that you were not to stay hidden at all times. The heroes can't know you exist. Especially since those few UA students could be suspicious of you. You are to be non-existent to everyone but the League. Which is why you have to stay on the mountain. You run for a while before you run into a classroom, shutting the door behind you. You take a deep breath, leaning your head against the cool frame, tears falling down your cheeks. God, you hate this.

And then you gasp when someone grabs your arm, jerking you around to face them.

Erasure head.

You hold back a squeal, instead, trying to get him to let go in small attempts. You didn't realize you ran into a full room. You just ran in. And now you stand, trapped with two pro heroes and heroes in the making.

"Who are you? Do you work with the League?" he asks. His scarf is holding your arm back and he's forcing you stay put.

You whimper shaking your head.

"Mr. Aizawa!" a red-haired boy yells. Kirishima. "That's the girl we were talking about! Last week when we ran into her!"

"This is her?" he asks, eyeing you suspiciously. No. No. No. No. No. God, no. They know you. The pro heroes know you. You're not hidden anymore. You're no longer hidden from them. Which means, you're a villain.

"Yes. But she wasn't in a costume. And. . . she didn't have those marks on her neck." Kirishima studies you, looking at you with pitiful eyes.

Aizawa looks back at you, frowning. "Are you okay?"

You squeeze your eyes shut. "P-please. Don't hurt me. I'm s-sorry."

He lets you go, but he stays close. "What's your name?"

You shake your head, pushing yourself up against the door. You're not allowed to say. Dabi said you couldn't say. So, you touch a finger to your lips, willing them to stay shut as you take steadying breaths, your tears slowing down.

Aizawa softens his stance. "We're the good guys, remember? We're here to help. Just let us help."

"I can't."

"Why not?"

"He said I couldn't," you hiccup.

"Who did?"

You shake your head, refusing to answer, refusing to break your promise to Dabi, refusing to listen to the worthless heroes.

"Are you being held captive by the League? Are they hurting you?" He pauses, looking at your neck. "Is that where you got those bruises?"

Before you can nod, shake your head, say or do anything, the door opens and you're being push behind someone.

"Goddammit, Mouse," he says. "I ask you to do one fucking thing and you can't even manage to do that. Do I have to put a fucking leash on you?" He sighs, glaring at Aizawa. "Go outside, Mouse. Now."

You take one last look at the group, at Aizawa, and at Kirishima, before your run out of the room, guilt clawing at your neck and suffocating you. Dabi didn't say where to go, but just to go outside. So that's what you'll do. He'll meet up with you, right? As you step outside, you run into him again. You gasp, looking around the place, wondering how he beat you. How was he so fast?

"It's Twice. I'm with him that way. Go, now."

"But—,"

"Now, Y/n."

"Y/n?"

You both turn around to see Aizawa with mud on his one foot and a scowl on his face. You're quickly shoved behind Dabi as he says, "Now, Mouse!" You enhance his quirk quickly, letting him ignite his fire. It lights up the surrounding area in his bright blue fire, and he lets it go for a few more seconds before he stops. Aizawa is missing and you star wide-eyed, thinking Dabi completely disintegrated him. But he's hanging on the ledge staring at you both. His quirk can prevent someone from using theirs and so he uses it to stop Dabi.

"Run," he murmurs to your as he melts into a puddle of mud. You take that moment to run off, to get to the real Dabi. Not the fake one Twice made of him. You need the real one.

"Y/n," Aizawa calls. "Don't run from me! I want to help you."

"No, please!" you scream, tripping in the woods. Your dumb cape. You frown and rip it off of you, continuing to run. Along the way, you activate your quirk. But not to heal. Not to enhance. To hurt. To get Aizawa off your back. You send a shock of pain and hear him trip, leaving you to get away.

There. Dabi stands there. With Twice and Nomu waiting patiently in the back. You quickly run to his arms, hiding yourself from the world.

He sighs, frowning. "What happened to you? You cut your cheek," he says, wiping the blood off.

"I fell down the hill."

"How did you do that?"

"Muscular's fight was becoming too much. I couldn't even stand!" You're exhausted and tired and you're scared. So you aren't going to take his anger. You were left alone. He should've known you'd find him in the middle of the fight.

He frowns. "And so, you ran into Erasure head instead?"

"I didn't mean to!"

He shakes his head, patting yours as he says. "Well, you're just in time. I'm about to release the Nomu."

"Where's Bakugou?" you ask.

He smiles. "They're coming our way now. Kurogiri will take Twice, the Nomu, and everyone else except you, me, and Compress."

You nod. "And then what?"

"We take him and leave."

He makes it sound so simple. Like it'll be easy to just grab him and leave. It can't be too hard, right? But so far, you're failing, you've left your post, and now the heroes know you work with the League. So what's next? How can you keep this from going horribly wrong?

Dabi calls the Nomu and he breaks off running. He lights the forest in more flames, restricting the pathway for the students to go. You hold onto his hand as he walks towards the meeting point for him and Compress. When they get there, Kurogiri is waiting with Toga, Spinner, Magne, and Compress. Toga and Twice go to each other, Compress meets with you and Dabi, and the other three stay together.

"It's time," Dabi murmurs in your ear.

It's time. He's coming.
