Summertime was gone and Lena officially lives in New York. After she moved, I asked her if she wanted to be my girlfriend and things have been good between us ever since.
Lena isn't like these other girls. So far, she taught me that morals are not just for women but men as well.
I should hold myself to a certain standard and not just be willing to give every girl I meet, my all.
She put me on to self-care Sunday's, I be taking baths with candles burning and Jazz music playing in the background. Shortie got me feeling different.
I can be my real self with her, she accepts me as I am.
When Lena started school, we went from spending everyday with each other to just the weekends.
Even though we don't spend as much time together, I think it's better that she's here in New York over being in D.C. because if that was the case, then we wouldn't even cross paths until the Holiday Breaks.
It's been a major adjustment but it's alright with me.
"Yeeerrrrr!" Jarron approached Dro and I.
Dro and I hashed out our differences after I decided to leave Jarron alone for good.
Turns out, him and Lena really do go way back. And he didn't want me playing with her emotions because she's a good woman and she is!
We had a long talk and I let him know that I wasn't for the games and my heart was in the right place when it came to Lena. It started off as a bet but i got close to her and got to know her for who she was and if I could take my initial motives back, I would.
"Where's ya girl at?" Jarron asked me, "seems to me that y'all was stuck at the hip at first, she found out who you really was huh?"
I just ignored him because I had nothing good to say to him.
"What you doin here man?" Dro asked Jarron
"The trip is in a couple of weeks and I just decided that I wasn't going nowhere with y'all so run me my stack back."
"Trip? What trip?" I asked.
"Where's my stuff at?" Jarron asked.
"I ain't walking around here with $1500 on me" Dro laughed as he patted his pockets, "Come back tonight and I'll have your money."
"Aight then" Jarron said before walking away.
"Remember the trip that we talked about?" Dro asked me.
I thought back for a minute.
"And every couple had to put in a $1500?"
"Oh yeah" I said, "the Miami trip."
"That's what he's talking about."
"Alright so just give him his money back and send him on his way" I laughed.
"It's not that easy" he dragged, "I already put every bodies money towards the air B&B, the airplane tickets, and the rental car. All the money is tied up."
"Dang you a travel agent or sum?" I joked.
"Nah but I got the hook up with one of the shorties that work at the airport and she got the hook up with a travel agent, this trip should've been $2300 per person, instead of $750 but she cut me a deal" he explained.
"So who's all going as of now?" I asked.
"You, Me, Jarron, Leila and my homie Alex from 122nd and then our plus one cause there are 10 tickets."
