(One week later)

Lena

"Lena wake up" my granny spoke.

"I'm up" I mumbled.

"Lena wake up!" She yelled this time.

"I'm up!" I exclaimed.

"Chile you sleep like a log, are you pregnant?" She asked.

"Impossible" I said as I got up and rubbed my eyes.

"It's 1 in the afternoon and the block party starts at 4, come in the kitchen and help me with the sides" she demanded.

"Wait you made it seem like it was just a barbecue, now it's an entire block party?" I asked, "I know that I agreed to help you out but you made it seem like we were cooking for 20 people, now you're talking about the whole block?"

I stayed out all night because I know that I didn't have to be up until 2 or 3pm to cook a small amount of food. Now she's talking about a block party.

"Get your butt in here and get to cooking" she said as she walked to my bedroom door, "and take that head thing off and brush your teeth, we have a guest."

She closed the door and left me looking dumb-founded.

My grandmother has this bad tendency of 1) telling me things at the last minute, and 2) always trying to hook me up with somebody. She acts as if I'm not hip to her antics. It's been this way for forever.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of Jarron's friends were out there right now. Hopefully it's not January or whatever his name was.

Granny already tried to hook me up with Jarron and that did not end well.

We tried one date and I really enjoyed myself but the moment he began talking about he'd rather have be around so we can be friends with benefits  is when I was completely turned off.

I got up out of my bed and looked at my self in the mirror and I had on the same clothes as yesterday.

Wearing my outside clothes in the bed is a no-no. But Luís had me out all night and about time I came home it was so late that I didn't even care.

We went to some of our old stomping grounds, had ice cream and even caught a midnight movie.

To say the least, I had fun but I'm still tired.

I stripped my bed of everything that was in it and threw it in my laundry basket.

I also took the clothes that I had on, off and threw them in the basket as well.

"Hmm what to where to wear? What to wear?" I asked aloud as I looked around the room.

My robe was the first thing that caught my attention.

I went in the restroom that was across the hall to brush my teeth.

Afterwards, I took my bonnet off, picked my fro out and then brushed it up into a bun and swooped them edges real quick.

Natural hair is no joke and it's really a miracle how mine decided to cooperate today because I forgot to put my bonnet on last night.

"Come on girl!" Granny yelled.

"Here I come!" I yelled back.

I fast walked to the kitchen, bypassing the living room and I didn't see anybody. What company was she talking about? Cause the tv was on and wasn't nobody sitting there watching it.

They probably left already, who knows?

"Chile I said make yourself decent not come in here with a robe" Granny laughed, "...hardheaded just like me."
