Gina

"Put that box over there and we'll unpack it tomorrow morning, cause I'm done doing heavy lifting for today" I told my cousin as I leaned up against the counter flipping through a magazine.

My cousins and I are working in my Uncle's bodega until he comes back form Cuba next month.

"I hear you girl"she laughed before going to the back office.

"Shoot!" I yelled loud enough so she could hear me, "we should close early because it's raining outside, ain't nobody worried about going to no market."

"I'm good for one more hour, after that I'm calling it quits" she yelled back.

"Truth!" I agreed.

I glimpsed out the window and then did a double take because I saw Lena walking down the block.

"Hey Lena wassup?" I yelled from the door frame.

"Nothing, I'm headed to the train I have somewhere to be" she said.

"The train?" I asked as I looked at my phone to see the time, "it's 10 at night and it's raining so you're not going down there by yourself."

"Gina please" she sighed, "it's not like you care anyways."

Something was bothering her but I didn't want to stand out here in the cold trying to figure it out.

"What happened?"

"Nothing happened, I'm just going somewhere" she said.

"Come inside the store real quick" I told her.

"I don't have time to explain, I have to go" she said as she kept walking.

I quickly grabbed my umbrella and went after her.

"Yo Lena wait up!" I yelled.

"What Gina?"

"My break is in 20 how about I take you to where you're going and you tell me what's going on" I suggested.

"Are you going to leave me alone if I follow you back to the store ?" She asked.

"Nope"

"Come on" she hissed.

We went back in the store and I sat my umbrella down.

She took her coat off and hung it on the coat rack.

"So wassup?" She asked.

"I mean you tell me...you're acting like we weren't good friends in the past."

"You let our friendship go down the drain when you let Luís influence your thoughts on me and yeah you apologized for it but everytime I see you in public with Alex and everybody else you don't speak but whenever you catch me when you're by yourself, you speak...I don't have time for the games anymore."

"I didn't realize that I did that, I apologize Lena."

Lena and I were good, good friends and I'll be the first to admit that I was wrong for what I did.

It bothers me even til this day because we let a lot of time slip away. Went through all that just to find out that the beef started because Luís didn't want to see her with another man.

Then I felt really stupid when I saw that Luís and Lena were the first to make up and be cool and she was still holding a grudge towards the rest of the crew.
