Three weeks later

June

"I have a surprise for you" I told Lena as I parked my car.

"What is it?" She asked.

"It wouldn't be a surprise if I told you" I laughed.

"June" she said with an attitude.

This girl made me wait three whole weeks before I could take her out on a date and ever since I picked her up she's been in an attitude.

I know it's my fault that we fell out in the first place but lighten up or something.

"Lena I'm being patient with you because I like you, I know you're still mad at me but lighten up for real before you spoil the night for both of us" I said sternly, "I didn't force you to come here with me and we don't even have to go forward, I can take you back home right now if that's what you want."

People make mistakes but it's time to move on, no need to keep holding on. For what?

"Alright" she said just above a whisper.

"Alright isn't the answer that we need, do you want to go home or not?" I asked.

"No June I'm fine" she exaggerated.

"You're something else" i said as I shook my head.

"I've heard it all before."

"Anyway, don't worry" I laughed, "you're safe with me."

I got out of the drivers side and went to the passenger side to open the door for her.

I closed the door and locked it before grabbing her hand and leading her to the apartment building.

A picnic on the roof of an apartment building was something that I've always wanted to do but I only want to do intimate things like that with a woman that I'm taking seriously. And Lena is the one for me.

I have some underlying guilt for what I'm doing but I'm frustrated because I like this woman.

My Uncle is a super intendant of this apartment building and he gave me the keys to the roof with no hesitation.

I gave my aunt some money to decorate because this date needed a woman's touch.

Even though I haven't seen what it looks like up there, I trust that my aunt knows what she's doing.

After walking up a whole bunch of steps we finally made it to the door and I unlocked it.

I stood behind Lena and covered her eyes with my hands.

"Keep your eyes closed" I smiled.

We pushed the door open and when we got on the roof there was a trail of roses.

"Don't let me run into anything" she whined.

"I got you" I reassured her.

She had this long brown turtle neck dress that hugged her body in all the right places, some gold jewelry and gold heels to match. Lena is beautiful, top tier.

We bent the corner and there was a thick blanket on the ground, a picnic basket of food, LED candles lit everywhere and white string lights hanging around the clothes line that was out there.

"Okay look" I took my hands off of her eyes.

"Wow" was all Lena could say.
